Then, why do some abandon the Blessed One (bcom ldan 'das, Sanskrit: Bhagavan, Devanagari: भगवन्, bhagavan, meaning 'Lord') and rely on other systems such as the Samkhya? Therefore, because: Those who delight in the faults of the world, and are attached to holding virtues, seeing faults as virtues, will take refuge in others. This is what is said. Moreover, the word 'moreover' is a particle of distinction. 'World' refers to ordinary sentient beings, not the noble ones, who do not delight in faults. This is because they are attached to objects, hence they are called 'world,' which is a definitive term. 'Delighting in faults' means delighting in things that should be condemned and being partial to them. Alternatively, although this world may not delight in faults, it is actually engaged in perceiving faults as virtues. For example, an eye afflicted by jaundice sees the beauty of the moon's rays, which are white, as yellow, and thinks, 'We see and recognize the color yellow.' Similarly, associating with unwholesome friends and the fault of listening to non-Dharma will cause one to perceive all faults as virtues, and the mind will become confused. 'Attached to holding virtues' means taking virtues, which is understanding virtues. Being dull in holding virtues means being ignorant and deluded. 'Delighting in faults' indicates that the continuum is defiled by the fault of inversion. 'Seeing faults as virtues' indicates that beings lack wisdom and are deluded by conceptual thoughts. How can we ascertain what was said earlier? Because it is said 'taking refuge in others,' etc., which means taking refuge in other deities such as Mahesvara, Vishnu, and Brahma. This will show that because worldly people have no virtues and have accumulated many faults, they take refuge in others, so it is certain that they desire other teachers, which is the conclusion.

This passage explains: If others have both flaws and no merits, how should that be explained? Here, deities such as Vishnu are mentioned. The god of wealth and the great Ishvara, namely Vishnu Ishvara. Whatever is related to these deities belongs to Vishnu Ishvara and so on. Believing in these deities means that those who love and deeply trust them will vigorously proclaim their merits and openly praise their excellence. However, in your teachings, these are all regarded as flaws. Buddha, the Bhagavan, in your teachings, these are flaws, faults, shortcomings, and things to be condemned. That is precisely its meaning. Furthermore, since these are faults in your teachings, what merits do they proclaim? Starting from "Great God" and so on, these are all explaining this point. The so-called "Great God is angry" refers to the mind-stream that is filled with anger. The so-called "Triple City" refers to the destruction of the Triple City, which is the unification of three cities, burned by fierce fire. The so-called "fierce" refers to the possibility of proclaiming its merits. That is to say, the merits that the Great God proclaims and demonstrates in the world are: the three cities of the Asuras fly in the sky, and the Asuras descend from the cities, harming humans. Then, in order to protect humans, the Great God took up a bow and arrow and destroyed and burned the Triple City of the Asuras with one arrow. As the scripture says: "Here, the city of the Asuras flies in the sky, with men, women, old and young, all inside. Taking up a huge bow, with a burning arrow, it is instantly burned as if burned by fire." This is the source of the scripture. This is a great sin in your teachings, namely killing, because it will lead to falling into hell. As the scripture says: "Whoever sees you from the moment of killing, never turning back, you will know today that you will fall into hell." This is the teaching in the scripture. If burning the city of the Asuras is sinful, then the merits and burning that you possess

What is that? It refers to 'yours' and so on. What is the weapon? It is said to be the great arrow of wisdom. Since wisdom itself is the great arrow, it is the great arrow of wisdom. The meaning of 'fire of wrath' is that wrath itself is like a mother, so it is the fire of wrath. That itself means that the Bhagavan will surely burn and pacify it. Question: The great power of loving-kindness pacifies the fire of wrath, as it is said, 'Monks, cultivate loving-kindness! Cultivating, practicing, and increasing loving-kindness will lead to abandoning hatred.' Isn't that what was said? Answer: Although that is so, that only suppresses the surface with loving-kindness, while wisdom uproots it from the root, so wisdom is mentioned here. 'The great god' and so on, 'badly burned' means not burned well, that is, not burned from the root.
