The ground is what is gathered, the realm is in the three pure states, it is shown by the three names. So it is said. Third, showing the condensed essence of the instructions: In any time of the yoga of the ground and path, it is necessary to have something without hope and attachment. Even a hair's breadth of hope for the antidote side of emptiness, and a little doubt about not having that kind of (hope), is still conceptual grasping, so it will be caught in the dangerous path of becoming view and meditation made by decisiveness, speculation, and mental fabrication. Even in Tögal, if there is attachment to good signs in the light, and hope for arising, and doubt for not arising, it will become the cause of higher realms because it is grasping. Therefore, there is no instruction that is not included in having no hope and doubt. The All-Creating Tantra says: "In the nature of Dharma, enlightenment that cannot be meditated upon, meditation is cutting off distraction, hope, and doubt." Also, The Quintessence of Marvelous Meaning says: "In the past, when the All-Seeing was teaching, a Brahmin's son named Glorious, without the meaning of realizing his own mind, with the thought of wanting fruit from elsewhere, when will the five Buddha families be accomplished? Thinking in his mind and meditating on the deity, there is no fruit and he falls into samsara. Therefore, it is very important to have no hope and doubt." So it is said. Then, is it just equanimity, samadhi without perception? It is not so, it is distinguished by whether or not it follows attachment, therefore, its meaning also corresponds to suchness, which is not established in any place, Dharma, or Dharmadhatu, pacifying all mental proliferations and entering into samadhi. Therefore, the rivers of the intention of the boundless ocean of Sutra and Tantra converge into one. Chandrakirti says: "When intelligence arises in accordance with emptiness, it is said to realize emptiness, but it is not emptiness realizing emptiness." Also, The Supplement to the Middle Way says: "When unborn is that very nature, at that time intelligence is also free from arising and ceasing, at that time they rely on that power, thus realizing that nature as it is. Just as the mind becomes the aspect of whatever, that is the nature of its object, thus knowing is called, conventional relative consciousness." So it is said. Furthermore, for Mahamudra and Dzogchen, which consider non-conceptual wisdom as the nature of meditation, some Madhyamikas slander it, which is their own...

This is the essence of the heart's core. Whether from the perspective of Sutra or Tantra, one must grasp this very nature of meditation. All Buddhas and accomplished masters have declared this with one intention and one voice. As stated in the Ornament of Clear Realization: "Those who meditate without observation, those who desire supreme meditation, this is supreme meditation." Chandrakirti said: "Its meaning is that one should meditate, placing the ungrasping mind in its natural state, without grasping or distraction, meditating without characteristics and with clarity." In the Seven Hundred Verse Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, it says: "In this Perfection of Wisdom, one should meditate in the manner of not meditating." In the Hevajra Tantra, it says: "Why does the mind not meditate? All beings should meditate." Furthermore, if we explain in detail why liberation is not achieved by establishing the foundation, path, and result on conceptual thought (note: some might think that without elaborating on the points of view that contradict the two selves and grasping, there is no antidote to them), it is because conceptual thought is the root of samsara. As Dharmakirti said: "Conceptual thought is great ignorance; it is what causes one to fall into the ocean of samsara." The words of the Sugata state that conceptual thought is the nature of the two obscurations, and that non-conceptual wisdom is attained only from the cessation of conceptual thought. Therefore, to speak in this way (note: in this way, the key is that what is to be abandoned and the antidote are not contradictory but one; just as heat cannot be removed without letting go of the fire, grasping and holding cannot be abandoned. This contradicts the scriptures) is to become an outsider to the teachings. Moreover, as stated in the Mother of the Conquerors: "Subhuti, the Perfection of Wisdom is non-conceptual. From non-conceptuality, it is called Buddha. From non-conceptuality, it is called enlightenment." The Golden Light Sutra states that non-conceptuality is the wisdom of the noble ones: "Son of lineage, there is no wisdom of the noble ones apart from non-conceptual wisdom." The Condensed Sutra states: "Not thinking of birth or non-birth, this is the supreme practice of the Perfection of Wisdom." Sambhuti said: "Conceptual thought is great delusion; it is what causes one to fall into the ocean of samsara; non-conceptual samadhi
