Because of pacification, the cause of all arising and the result of suffering cannot be abandoned. Having realized the Dharmakaya, even the fire of hell cannot burn, and suffering has already been liberated into great bliss. Therefore, with the confidence of mastering the ground, path, and fruit, there is no abyss of samsara. Since afflictions are pure from the beginning, therefore, the karma that arises from them, and the result that it brings about, do not exist. Without practicing the ten virtues, one becomes a Buddha. Without abandoning the ten non-virtues, one is self-liberated. Without effort or practice, one attains Buddhahood naturally. As it is said in the Glorious Mountain of Accumulation: If you understand the meaning of complete Tögal, you will attain enlightenment without practicing the ten virtues. Without accumulating the two accumulations, you will perfect them in one moment. Without purifying the two obscurations, you will be pure from the beginning. Without making aspirations, you will accomplish them naturally. The essence is self-enlightened in the Dharmakaya. Like the teachings of the lower vehicles, without action, effort, accumulation, or aspiration, you will attain the Buddhahood of true meaning. Thus it is said. Secondly, to familiarize oneself with realizing that very thing through specific meanings. In general, for those with minds focused on objects, there is the view of severing the continuity of cities, the meditation of union of day and night or the great self-liberation without grasping, the conduct of mastering appearances and not being attached, and the fruit of effortless accomplishment. For these, each has its own share of four aspects of meaning, four methods, four intentions, four individuals of opportune time, and four ways of purification and liberation, totaling twenty. (Although for those with minds of self-arising awareness, the practice is generally Tögal, note.) Here, since there are also those with minds of self-arising awareness through Trekchö self-path, therefore, as it is said in the Heap of Jewels: For those with minds focused on objects, all the teachings of meditation and what is to be meditated upon are taught. For those with minds of self-arising awareness, all the methods of view are taught as one. Thus it is said. Taking that as a basis, the above four continuities are perfected in the meaning of emptiness, and are taught in five sections: From the gateway of demolishing the house of the mind, turning the unborn original purity into familiarity; from the gateway of chasing after objective things, binding appearances as mind, and binding the mind to the unattached and nameless; from the gateway of severing the root of the mind, expelling demonic influences and external objects, introducing the meditation of self-liberation of clinging; searching between the object and consciousness, binding with the conduct of mastering appearances; and entering into non-meditation through the method of establishing extremes.

The first of the five is, finding a place of calm abiding to rely on, and relying on the wisdom of unborn and pure from the beginning, to establish the strict seal of the vows and mudras. First, starting from the body in the lotus position... When stable, it is said that this is called the mind abiding of ordinary worldly people. To accomplish this, the key points of the body are also very important. In the Lamrim it says, "Therefore, the remaining parts are even, possessing the seven qualities of comfort." This means that the remaining parts of the body's key points, namely speech and mind, also possess four straightnesses, being inconceivably upright. The certainty and qualities of the key points and postures have been explained in my Six Bardos Instructions. Here, in the Rabjampa, it says, "On a clean seat, the legs should be in the vajra posture 1, the hands should be in equipoise and crossed 2." etc. This is said to avoid various fabrications, and it should be understood that it can be relied upon. From this, "The body should be stretched like an arrow 3, the arms should be extended like the wings of a vulture 4, the neck should be bent like a bow 5, the body and chest should be raised 6, the eyes and tip of the nose should be aligned with the tip of the mind 7." Do according to these seven points, and the tongue should be placed against the palate, which is mentioned in all the root-winds of the Sakya, Gelug, and Nyingma schools, so the key point can be known from the majority of sources. When abiding in this way, it seems that more discursive thoughts arise than before, which is because wisdom is slightly lacking, so they are being counted. Just as an army and many chess pieces cannot be counted, the holes in a tent and twin children can be counted. This is said in the Mahamudra meditation, the experience of wavering is like a waterfall on a steep mountain. From then on, by abiding without distraction, the experience of attainment is like water in a narrow cave, the experience of habituation is like an ocean undisturbed by wind, and the experience of final completion is like a mountain unmoved by wind. These four experiences arise in sequence and become very stable. From then on, having gained confidence in non-distraction and being able to rely on it, calm (here there are also twenty-one ways of holding the mind from the method aspect. From the aspect of essence, there is one-pointed desire and the search and analysis samatha including close attainment, as well as the sequence of the faculties of the names of samadhi etc. Note.) abiding is accomplished. Second, the necessity of searching from the Dharmakaya mind aspect and
