Explanation of the state of the Ground Dzogchen, where samsara and nirvana are complete in the mind; showing the state of the Path Dzogchen, the Great Manifestation of Dharmata; and showing the state of the Fruit Dzogchen, where the fruit is complete in the ground. Of these three, the first involves establishing the ground in terms of the general meaning, familiarizing oneself with its realization through specific meanings, and concluding with a summary. First, explaining the nature of the Ground, the Great Perfection of Samsara and Nirvana; identifying the Ground itself; and its qualities. First: Samsara, being complete as the mind's own appearance, is the reversed manifestation of potency. The various appearances are like the appearance of shimmering in the sky due to confused eye consciousness. If traced back, it is a reversed perception of the Dharmadhatu of Nirvana. Since there can never be confusion without a basis, it is said in the Wisdom, Space-like: 'Confusion without a basis is impossible, like a rabbit's horn. Confusion arises from the basis of confusion.' Therefore, samsara also has an end and a return. Otherwise, if samsara were established independently, purification in the expanse would also be impossible, and like a crystal rock or jade stone, it could not be liberated through cultivation and transformation. In the Union Tantra, it says: 'If Suchness is not realized, yoga is like the body and its shadow. From it, it arises naturally. Therefore, abandonment is not abandonment. Likewise, it is not through cultivation, nor does transformation change it. Without realizing the unchanging essence, like a crystal rock or jade stone, it cannot be cultivated and pacified. The yogi discerns that it is naturally pure.' Therefore, since the mind's confused appearances are complete like a dream, samsara is complete. All the dharmas of nirvana are complete as the nature of qualities, in the manner of the sun and its rays. This is because they abide in the adornment of the nature of reality. In Longsal, it is said: 'The aggregates of liberation are the five Buddhas.' And so on. These are also from the Root Tantra of the Essence of All Views: 'Mind is one with all dharmas, samsara and nirvana.'" } ] ============================================================

The Dharma of. The realm of activity of the two illusions, although there are differences in wrong thoughts and wisdom, the nature of the mind is inherently one. So it is said. Secondly, such a basis exists in the two, mind and mind-essence, but the sudden mind is a mistaken concept, so it cannot be the basis of liberation. If you think that this wisdom of Dharmakaya cannot be the basis of illusion, it is true, but it is said because it has become a lineage of illusion. In the common vehicle, the foundation, path, and fruit are established on the mind, so the foundation and fruit are confused and enlightenment cannot be attained quickly. Therefore, in the Definitive Meaning Collection, it is said: This mind of ignorance and delusion, wanting to attain Bodhi is truly pitiful, deceiving oneself, like a madman chasing shadows. So it is said. The root of faults is the mind, so the mind cannot attain Buddhahood. The mind is the cause of arising conditions, so it is not the real mistaken consciousness. Because the nine vehicles are all regarded as the mind, it is said to be the wrong path of Definitive Meaning Ati. So it is said. However, it is also true that it is said to be the lineage of illusion. For example, camphor is a medicine, but it becomes poison for those with cold diseases. Therefore, in the Arrangement of the Sun and Moon, it is said: For example, like camphor, although there is no duality on the basis of camphor, it becomes medicine and poison due to the conditions of heat and cold. The nature of camphor is not different, and two appear on one nature. So it is said. In the Difference of Views, it is said: For example, although there is no duality on the basis of camphor, medicine and poison appear due to the conditions of heat and cold. Similarly, although there is no duality of samsara and nirvana on the basis, two appear due to the conditions of awareness and ignorance. So it is said. If so, if you think that the basis is not indicated, it is not so. Although there is a basis for liberation, it appears as a basis for illusion, just as there is a rope, but it appears as a snake. The basis of this Great Perfection should be identified only as the Dharmakaya awareness Bodhicitta. Therefore, in Self-Appearance, it is said: The fruit of the mind is not desired, because there is the wisdom of awareness. So it is said. The third merit is that all the faults of samsara depend on the mind, because it clings to the place, meaning, and body as self due to habits, and because it arises from the eighty-four thousand afflictions, just as one cannot abandon heat without abandoning the torch, on that mind
