Because there is no arising, it is the place. Because awareness is unwavering, it is called the Great Primordial Radiance. It is inexpressible. It is immeasurable. It is unobservable. It is unfathomable. It is uncountable. It cannot be determined by anything. It is incomparable. It cannot be made into an object of knowledge. Thus it is said. In the 'Transcendent Transformation' it says: Although its essence abides as the body, the Dharma and enjoyment bodies, and the emanation, fall like rain. Although there is no separation or non-separation, it is also established by its own accord. The body's form and so on are not objects of the mind. Thus it is said. In the 'Adornment' it says: That great abiding of essence, although it appears as a body, there are no mouths, eyes, ears, etc. Thus it is said. Secondly, the abiding of self-nature is: Within the spontaneously accomplished preciousness, the intention of the precious gau, in the realm of the youthful vase body, the basis for the arising of the fivefold body, speech, mind, qualities, activities, wisdom, and light. It is the source of all appearances of the ground, path, and fruition, the great clear emptiness that transcends existence and non-existence. Although the five lights abide spontaneously, because the outer shell is not broken, it transcends color and form, it is the self-nature of perfect enjoyment. In the 'Transcendent Transformation' it says: The nature of the light that manifests, white, yellow, red, green, blue, and black, is not a marked form, but is established by the natural flow of formless wisdom. Thus it is said. In the 'Adornment' it says: The appearance of self-nature is like a vast expanse, without partiality, etc., abiding in the nature of the fivefold, the great non-grasping of color. Round without shape. Without pervasiveness, its own radiance is great. Self-luminous with inner and outer. Without effort, it is established by its own accord. Thus it is said. In the 'Self-Arisen' it says: The appearance of the five lights of self-nature is unceasing. Thus it is said. Thirdly, the appearance of compassion is: Compassion abides in the wisdom of awareness, but knowing as it is and as much as it is, inwardly clear without grasping or being grasped, like a cloudless sky, it transcends the conceptualization of appearing as different objects and subjects. In the 'Transcendent Transformation' it says: The basis of the appearance of compassion is diverse. Therefore, it cannot be determined as one. Because it appears in many ways, it is called the basis. Thus it is said. In the 'Six Spaces' it says: If the wisdom of knowable objects is non-dual, then what is the difference from inanimate objects? Or it becomes a sunken emptiness, this is only a transformation. Thus it is said. In the 'Self-Arisen' it says: The appearance of compassion is like a cloudless sky.

Like that. Secondly, the way in which samsara and nirvana appear from that is: recognizing the self-nature of the ground appearance becomes the basis for liberation; not recognizing and clinging to it as self becomes the basis for delusion, so it is the basis for delusion. Because it is the basis for both of these, it is called the common basis. The common general sutra says: Non-conceptual self-awareness, bodhicitta, is the essence of both buddhas and sentient beings. Only awareness and non-awareness appear as pure and impure. Like that. The glorious Mountain of Jewels Tantra says: In the equality of the essence's pervasiveness, from the two, awareness and non-awareness, arise the two, increasing upwards and deluding downwards. Also, the Garland says: Because of the spontaneous arising of various appearances, the ground is established through commonality. Like that. Although ignorance is not established on the ground, it arises from the path, and merely because it becomes a transmitting factor, it is designated as the basis for delusion, but delusion is not established on the ground, so, as the Essence of Sun and Moon says: On the ground of dharmata, there is no delusion; the display of power, delusion arises effortlessly. Like that. For example, in similar measurement, there is no basis for yellowness on a conch shell, and no basis for a snake on a rope, but it becomes a transmitting factor for generating the consciousness of clinging to a snake and yellowness. As it is also said in that very text: The great ground appearance itself, without being designated as ignorance, therefore, is not established as delusion. Because it is not universally designated as mind, therefore, there is not even the name of defilement or delusion. And it says: All that appears in this way is like seeing a snake on a rope; from taking what is not it as it, one revolves in the outer and inner, vessel and essence, two. Like this kind of way. All the dharmas that transcend suffering are also like the sun and its rays, complete without separation, and also on the self-ground of original purity, body and light, etc., do not actually appear, in the deep, clear, self-luminous essence, like the full moon in the sky, abiding internally, not scattered externally, gathered into the vase body, so in similar measurement, crystal and the five lights are inseparable, but do not appear without conditions. Therefore, even if one recognizes the self-nature of the ground appearance and matures into the basis for liberation, in the essence, liberation and delusion cannot be calculated in any way, so it is the great original liberation free from elaboration, the Garland says: Because it is transparent, appearances revert. That is the meaning. For example, camphor is not designated as either medicine or poison, but it appears separately from the transformation of the elements, as the Sun and Moon Arrangement Tantra says: For example, camphor
