Whoever holds and recites this (sutra), even if entering all battlefields, will not be defeated by the enemy. All sentient beings will rejoice. They will be completely liberated from all inauspiciousness. If the Great Power (text) is tied to the top of a banner and taken to the battlefield, one will not be defeated by the enemy. If the secret mantra is written on paper, tied to the crown of the head, and taken to the battlefield, all weapons will fall like flowers. Then, the demon circumambulated the Blessed One three times, sat to one side, and asked, "What is meant by 'Great Power'?" The Blessed One replied, "What is meant by 'Great Power' is the Tathagata. What is meant by 'Great Power' is the Dharma. What is meant by 'Great Power' is the aggregate of the Dharma. What is meant by 'Great Power' is the law of the Dharma. What is meant by 'Great Power' is the Mahayana. What is meant by 'Great Power' is Vajrapani." Then, the sinful demon said, "Secret Lord Vajrapani, well done, well done! I take refuge. I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Blessed One, well done, well done! I will take the vows of a layperson. For the sake of happiness, liberation, the heavenly realms, for the sake of the wise and sentient beings, for the benefit of all holy beings, I will take the Great Power (text)." Then, the Blessed One, seeing that the sinful demon was delighted with the Dharma and felt joy and satisfaction in his heart, said, "This king of vidya-mantras, the Great Power Sutra, liberates sentient beings from the suffering of hell, animals, hungry ghosts, and the world of Yama. He will become a king of the gods for twenty thousand kalpas. He will become a universal monarch ruling over the four continents for immeasurable kalpas. It will establish (beings) in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. This essence of the king of vidya-mantras, the Great Power, whether one is pure or impure, whether one has fasted or not fasted, even one who relies on sexual practices, will achieve it. What will the holy one bestow? Vajrapani said: One should bestow grains, one should bestow clothes, one should bestow silver, one should bestow gold, one should bestow cows, one should bestow whatever holy object is desired. Subhuti said: Is this called a common result? Vajrapani said: Subhuti, it is just so. For those sentient beings obscured by afflictions, it exists in the moment of fruition. It exists for the sake of the qualities of the moment of fruition. Through the benefit of qualities, it places them on the path to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Subhuti said: Vajrapani, excellent! Excellent! Possessing secret characteristics, the powerful one possesses wisdom, the secret characteristics are perfectly complete, bestowing empowerment from the whole, the mind has also been received, perfectly matching the name, generosity, discipline, wisdom are great, miraculous powers are great, and power is also great, fame is widespread, merit is great, the peak of qualities, the powerful one. For the sake of empowering this sutra, eight thousand Buddhas have descended here. Bodhisattva Vajrapani, with this sutra, places the fearless hand on the crown of the head, and will do good. Whoever holds this dharani on the ground, on a mountain, on a riverbank, or on the seashore, will be free from the fear of all terrors. 名为法云亦当受持！名为能净一切罪障之陀罗尼咒亦当受持！名为一切持明成就之王亦当受持！名为般若波罗蜜多亦当受持！名为法界如来一切之先行亦当受持！名为明咒之王大威力亦当受持！秘密主金刚手，若有受持此经，及读诵、书写、供养、尊重、作师、画像者，是人则为供养过去、未来、现在诸佛及菩萨。是人则为供养过去、未来、现在一切佛之塔庙及舍利。金刚手菩萨白言：世尊！善哉善哉！甚深之法及神通功德庄严之法，我等受持。世尊告金刚手言：金刚手！若有善男子、善女人受持此经者，彼之怨敌犹如水边之树，不久枯槁。若以香、花、烧香、幢幡等供养者，是人则具无量无边之福蕴。于彼则无障碍。若于任何处所受持此经，天人皆当供养。明咒之王大威力，若能忆念系缚一切障碍及诸邪引，则八千佛及诸菩萨摩诃萨，并大仙众，天、龙、乾闼婆等皆生欢喜。于大威力之陀罗尼咒生欢喜时，如来释迦牟尼佛乃说此言。秘密主金刚手！若不恭敬此经者，彼等当生于八大热地狱中。秘密主金刚手！若恭敬此经者

Also hold the one called Cloud of Dharma! Also hold the one called the Dharani Mantra that Purifies All Sins! Also hold the one called the King of Accomplishment of All Mantra Holders! Also hold the one called Perfection of Wisdom! Also hold the one called the Precursor of All Tathagatas of the Realm of Dharma! Also hold the one called the King of Vidyadharas, Great Power! Secret Lord Vajrapani, whoever holds this sutra, recites it, writes it, makes offerings, respects it, makes it their teacher, paints it, and worships it, that person will have made offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past, future, and present. That person will have made offerings to the stupas and relics of all Buddhas of the past, future, and present. Vajrapani Bodhisattva said: World Honored One! Well said, well said! We will uphold the profoundly deep Dharma and the Dharma adorned with the qualities of miraculous powers. The World Honored One said to Vajrapani: Vajrapani! If any son or daughter of good family holds this sutra, their enemies will wither away like trees by the water's edge. If they make offerings with incense, flowers, burning incense, banners, and various canopies, that person will possess immeasurable and boundless accumulations of merit. No obstacles will arise for them. If this sutra is held in any place, gods and humans will make offerings. King of Vidyadharas, Great Power, if one remembers and binds all obstacles and evil influences, then eight thousand Buddhas and all Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas, as well as great sages, gods, nagas, gandharvas, etc., will rejoice. When joy arises in this Dharani Mantra of Great Power, the Tathagata Shakyamuni Buddha spoke these words. Secret Lord Vajrapani!
