As soon as this king of Vidyas, the accomplished and unfailing one, was spoken, all the hosts of bhutas, yakshas, rakshasas, obstacles, and heretics fell down vomiting foam. Then, the great commander of the yaksha hosts, Vajrapani, with joy, his hair standing on end, all the terrified hosts of gods, Indra, Brahma, Vishnu, the Great Ishvara, the four Great Kings, the gods who make sounds, the asuras, all the ascetic sages, all the Naga kings dwelling in the ocean, all the water springs, all the gods and nagas dwelling in the water, the gods of the great ocean, all the gods dwelling in the city of Lanka, all the Vidyadhara Chakravartins, all the gods of the pure abodes, and all the gods of the sky, were agitated and descended from the sky. For the purpose of offering to the Bhagavan and the Bodhisattva Arya Avalokiteshvara, and also for the purpose of offering to him, they showered various kinds of divine flowers, such as lotuses, kumudas, utpalas, pundarikas, mandaravas, and great mandarava rains, as well as divine ornaments and gentle rains, knee-deep, on Mount Potala. Divine cymbals sounded, songs were sung, and sounds of "haha" and cacas and gazas were made, and it was specially proclaimed, "The Bhagavan Arya Avalokiteshvara has spoken this great Vidyadhara for the benefit of all beings." Then, the great commander of the yaksha hosts, Vajrapani, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, went to where Arya Avalokiteshvara was, circumambulated him three times, and offered a hundred thousand strings of pearl necklaces for the purpose of making offerings.
