世尊的教言中，有信受者，也有不信受者。 那些夜叉和非人等性情凶暴者中，信受世尊教言的非常少。 那些夜叉和非人等性情凶暴者中，不信受世尊教言的非常多。 僧人啊，为了让世尊的声闻比丘们、比丘尼们、近事男们、近事女们，如此守护自己，救护自己，安乐地居住，并使那些不信受的夜叉和非人等性情凶暴者信受，也为了让那些信受者更加增长，与遍行者和非遍行者相符的经、明咒、守护和手足礼拜，如果能广泛受持并完全理解，那就太好了。 僧侣们，我因为没有对大国王毗沙门之子说什么，所以他允许了。 然后大国王毗沙门之子知道我因为没有说什么而允许了，便用头顶礼我的双足，在我的面前广泛地祈请了与遍行者和非遍行者相符的经、明咒、守护和手足礼拜。 任何慷慨大方的人，不说离间语，没有吝啬，皈依佛陀的人，那些人才能获得利益。 依靠谁的出现，他就在白天赞颂，拥有巨大光芒的太阳，从哪里升起阳光，就显明地守护那个方向。 拥有盛名的大国王，是乾闼婆的主人，国王的名字叫持国（梵文：Dhṛtarāṣṭra，持国）。 他和亲属们一起，总是以歌舞为乐。 乾闼婆们围绕着他，乾闼婆们在他的面前观看。 他有很多儿子，八十一个。 那些名字相同，名声响亮，被称为自在者，非常强大。 天人和非天战斗时，到处都是别人无法战胜的。

Among the teachings of the Blessed One, there are those who believe and those who do not. Among those yakshas and non-humans with fierce natures, those who believe in the teachings of the Blessed One are very few. Among those yakshas and non-humans with fierce natures, those who do not believe in the teachings of the Blessed One are very many. Monks, in order for the Blessed One's Shravaka monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen to protect themselves in this way, to save themselves, to live in peace, and to make those unbelieving yakshas and non-humans with fierce natures believe, and also to increase those who believe, the sutra, vidya-mantra, protection, and salutation to the hands and feet, which are in accordance with the wanderers and non-wanderers, it would be very good if they could be widely held and fully understood. Monks, because I did not say anything to the great King Vaishravana's son, he allowed it. Then the great King Vaishravana's son knew that I had allowed it because I had not said anything, and bowed his head at my feet, and widely requested in my presence the sutra, vidya-mantra, protection, and salutation to the hands and feet, which are in accordance with the wanderers and non-wanderers. Whoever is generous, does not speak divisive words, is without stinginess, and takes refuge in the Buddha, those people will gain benefits. Relying on whose appearance, he praises during the day, the sun with great light, from where the sunlight rises, he clearly protects that direction. The great king with great fame is the lord of the Gandharvas, the king's name is Dhritarashtra. He and his relatives always enjoy singing and dancing. The Gandharvas surround him, and the Gandharvas watch in front of him. He has many sons, eighty-one. Those with the same name, famous and loud, are called the powerful ones. When gods and asuras fight, everywhere they are invincible.
