那时，（他们）这样祈请世尊道： 尊者，世尊，这部清凉园大经，四大天王已经向它顶礼膜拜，并且守护四众眷属，完全救护，并摧毁夜叉和罗刹等所造成的损害。尊者，世尊，任何比丘、比丘尼、优婆塞、优婆夷受其守护，他们也应当受持、背诵、宣说、完全领悟这部清凉园大经。尊者，世尊，任何比丘、比丘尼、优婆塞、优婆夷为了守护自己、隐藏自己、守护他人、隐藏他人而执持、背诵、宣说、完全领悟这部清凉园大经，那么夜叉和罗刹等所造成的损害，甚至不会在附近出现，更何况是加害呢？仅仅在一个晚上停留的地方，夜叉和罗刹等所造成的损害也不会在附近出现，那么对于经常居住的地方，还用说什么呢？尊者，世尊，如果有人受到非人（鬼神）的损害，就在他面前宣说这部清凉园大经，那么他会迅速康复、无病、安乐和解脱，而且非人（鬼神）不会再加害他，并迅速远离。尊者，世尊，这部清凉园大经就是如此重要。尊者，世尊，任何比丘、比丘尼、优婆塞、优婆夷执持、背诵、宣说、完全领悟和修习这部清凉园大经，那么具有信心的夜叉优婆塞们会前往四大天王处，并指名道姓地说： 诸位大天王，某某比丘、比丘尼、优婆塞、优婆夷为了守护自己、隐藏自己、守护他人、隐藏他人而执

Then, they entreated the Blessed One, saying: Venerable One, Blessed One, this great Cool Grove Sutra has been bowed to by the Four Great Kings, and it protects the fourfold assembly, completely saves them, and destroys the harm caused by yakshas and rakshasas, and so on. Venerable One, Blessed One, any bhikshu, bhikshuni, upasaka, or upasika who is protected by it, they should also hold, recite, proclaim, and fully comprehend this great Cool Grove Sutra. Venerable One, Blessed One, any bhikshu, bhikshuni, upasaka, or upasika who, for the sake of protecting themselves, hiding themselves, protecting others, or hiding others, holds, recites, proclaims, and fully comprehends this great Cool Grove Sutra, then the harm caused by yakshas and rakshasas, and so on, will not even be near them, let alone harm them. Even in a place where they stay for just one night, the harm caused by yakshas and rakshasas, and so on, will not even be near them, so what need is there to say about a place where they dwell constantly? Venerable One, Blessed One, if someone is afflicted by harm from non-humans (spirits), and this great Cool Grove Sutra is proclaimed in front of them, then they will quickly recover, be free from illness, be happy and liberated, and the non-humans (spirits) will not harm them again, and will quickly depart. Do, uphold, recite, fully understand, practice, and proclaim it in this way. Venerable One, World Honored One, faithful Yaksha lay practitioners, having arrived at the royal palace Willow Grove, in front of the Great King Vaishravana's son, the Yakshas gathered, and proclaimed it even in the assembly of all beings, there they will be very happy. Venerable One, World Honored One, this Great Cooling Grove Sutra is so meaningful. Venerable One, World Honored One, whichever bhikkhu, or bhikkhuni, or layperson, or laywoman, for the sake of protecting oneself, hiding oneself, protecting others, hiding others, holds, upholds, recites, fully understands, and practices this Great Cooling Grove Sutra, that is Brahmacharya. Not drinking alcohol, having mindfulness, having awareness, regarding the five kinds of food, namely sugarcane, honey, sesame, meat, and fish meat, completely abandon them. Why is that? Venerable One, World Honored One, from Yakshas and Rakshasas up to those who cause harm, for those who hold, uphold, recite, fully understand, and practice this Great Cooling Grove Sutra, at that time there will be destruction and no limit, in order to destroy those, we should make the Yidam. Venerable One, World Honored One, whichever bhikkhu, or bhikkhuni, or layperson, or laywoman, holds, upholds, and recites, fully understands, and practices this Great Cooling Grove Sutra, then the faithful Yaksha lay practitioners will make them happy with clothes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine, and utensils. Venerable One, World Honored One, this Great Cooling Grove Sutra is so meaningful. Venerable One, World Honored One, other non-Buddhists who do not believe in the World Honored One's scriptures, do not rejoice, cause harm, do not regard it as medicine, do not achieve, do not find happiness, whichever holds, upholds this Great Cooling Grove Sutra,
