Wind and space, And the reality of emptiness is well spoken. Those who abandon it always wander, From below to below, they go at that time. The number of three of various kalpas, At that time, accumulate all the merits, At that time, after attaining enlightenment, I and the victorious supreme ones, The meaning of mantras and tantras is spoken, In the land of beings, without sin. Performing the root rituals, Without sin and auspicious, Chapters are well spoken, It is a good and definitive sutra. The lord of the earth is great in virtue, The combination of place and time, The victorious son born as a human, On this earth, he taught the holy Dharma. The lord of the world, the Sage of the Shakyas, Was taught by the seventh Victorious One. The ritual is spoken extensively, Wisdom and Glory manifestly increase. The root is called a vast chapter, It is endowed with mantras and tantras. Which sutra is the supreme chief? The treasury of Dharma offered by the Victorious Ones. If people on earth abandon it, They will go to the Avici hell. They will be tormented in a great kalpa, It is taught to be divided into various forms. When and where will it occur? Even if born in a human body, Poor, with many diseases, foolish, They will be born in barbarian lands. Those who go despised by the world, They will become lepers and sick. Mute, deaf, and with impaired limbs, With diminished intelligence, blind, Rough and always fearful in appearance, They appear on earth like pretas. With bad clothes and a weak mind, Nails and body are also bad. Eaten by worms, And also fully endowed with scabies and itching. If this sutra is abandoned, By what and by what will they wander? In that and that birth, They will be born with bad intelligence and ignorance. Then the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Manjushri, having risen from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, opened his eyes without smiling, and knowing that the sons of the gods and many non-human beings residing in the immeasurable palace of the pure place, complete with all, had gathered to listen to the Dharma, he spoke thus to the Bhagavan Shakyamuni Buddha: O Bhagavan, how wonderful is this Dharma discourse, excellently spoken, O Bhagavan, in the future time.

Those who are overwhelmed by the desire of non-human races, who deceive, are arrogant, unbelieving, deceitful, wild, and immoral, will appear. They will not believe in the speculation of all mantras, the great essence, the vast accomplishment, and the time and place, they will not believe in the vows, mantras, actions, fire offerings, recitations that must be kept, and all kinds of rituals, they will not keep them in mind, and will say: This is not the Buddha's teaching! Then they will abandon it. Those people will become minds of affliction, then die, experience intense and burning pain, and they will be reborn in the great hells. Blessed One, how should we practice for those suffering beings? The Buddha, the Blessed One, possesses great compassion. Then, the Blessed One touched the head of Manjushri, who had become a youth, and said: Manjushri, you are diligent for the benefit of all beings, you are very good! Manjushri, who has become a youth, you are thinking of asking the Tathagata about this matter, you are very good! Manjushri, who has become a youth, therefore, listen well, very carefully, and keep it in mind. For the benefit, welfare, and happiness of all beings, and out of compassion for gods, humans, and the world, I will tell you. Those who wish to enter all actions, the path to enlightenment, omniscience, enter the realm of Dharma, and abide in the body of the noble Manjushri, should remember this most secret king of wisdom, youth, the various chapters of your root ritual, even at the time of death. What is it? Namas trailokya adhvate tathāgatebhyaḥ arhadbhyaḥ samyaksambuddhebhyaḥ. Oṃ kumārarūpiṇe viśvasaṃbhava āgaccha āgaccha lahulahu. Bhrūṃ bhrūṃ jinajika mañjuśriye suśriye tāraya mām sarvadukhebhyah phat phat śamaya śamaya amṛtodbhava pāpaṃ me nāśaya svāhā. Manjushri, this is your supreme heart mantra, which can pacify everything, exhaust all sins, and pacify all suffering.

From this, one can be completely liberated, increasing lifespan, health, power, supreme good fortune, and the power of speech, praising all kings of mantras. As soon as the Buddha Shakyamuni finished speaking, the great earth, including mountains and oceans, and the ultimate of sentient beings and containers, shook six times. All beings, such as those in hell, animals, the realm of Yama, and all sentient beings in hell, will have all their suffering purified, and will also attain great happiness. If one remembers this King of Wisdom, Manjushri, at that time there will be no thought of abandoning the sacred Dharma, evil demons will not find an opportunity, and all obstacles and wrong views will be dispelled. One should generate the mind in this way: The Buddhas and Dharma of the Tathagata are inconceivable. What can I do to think, measure, or abandon them? The Tathagata will know. This completes the thirty-sixth chapter of the Noble Manjushri Root Ritual Bodhisattva Pitaka Great Extensive Sutra, which reveals the power of benefits and faults. After the Blessed One spoke thus, the monks, bodhisattvas, all the complete retinues, the assembly of sons of gods dwelling in pure places, and countless billions of sentient beings, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, siddhas, vidyadharas, many supreme sages, Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara, Maitreya, Mahasthamaprapta, Mahasthana, Vajrapani, and other bodhisattva mahasattvas, and the Buddhas, Shravakas, and Pratyekabuddhas dwelling in countless realms and the boundless realm of Dharma, and the nature of the Tathagata's emptiness.
