Generating aspiration. Exerting effort. Initiating diligence. Firmly establishing the mind. Truly making aspirations. In order to generate the virtuous qualities that have not yet arisen, generating aspiration. Exerting effort. Initiating diligence. Firmly establishing the mind. Truly making aspirations. Thus, in order to maintain the virtuous qualities that have already arisen, cultivating immeasurable means, in order to be completely filled, because it has already been completely filled, in order to increase the supreme cultivation, generating aspiration. Exerting effort. Initiating diligence. Firmly establishing the mind. Truly making aspirations. These are the four right abandonments. The supernormal power of the concentration of aspiration, endowed with the activity of abandoning, should be cultivated, arising definitively through differentiation, arising definitively through detachment from desire, arising definitively through cessation, and through complete purification, my aspiration will cease and will not be extremely abiding. The supernormal power of the concentration of effort, endowed with the activity of abandoning, should be cultivated, arising definitively through differentiation, arising definitively through detachment from desire, arising definitively through cessation, and through complete purification, my effort will cease and will not be extremely abiding. The supernormal power of the concentration of discernment, endowed with the activity of abandoning, should be cultivated, arising definitively through differentiation, arising definitively through detachment from desire, arising definitively through cessation, and through complete purification, my discernment will cease and will not be extremely abiding. The supernormal power of the concentration of mind, endowed with the activity of abandoning, should be cultivated, arising definitively through differentiation, arising definitively through detachment from desire, arising definitively through cessation, and through complete purification, my mind will cease and will not be extremely abiding. These are the four legs of miraculous power, accompanied by acting according to desire. One should have faith in the worldly right view, whoever has become individually convinced of the ripening of one's own actions,

If one acts in that way, good or bad, experiencing the ripening of that and that action separately, then that is also a cause of life, and one does not manifestly accumulate sinful actions. This is said to be the root of faith. If one believes in the dharmas with the root of faith, one understands the dharmas with the root of diligence. This is said to be the root of diligence. If one understands the dharmas with the root of diligence, then the dharmas are not fully established with the root of mindfulness. This is said to be the root of mindfulness. If the dharmas are not completely destroyed by the root of mindfulness, then the dharmas are focused on one-pointedly with the root of samadhi. This is said to be the root of samadhi. If one focuses on the dharmas one-pointedly with the root of samadhi, then the dharmas are individually known by the root of wisdom, that is, discrimination arises separately for that and those dharmas. This is said to be the root of wisdom. These five roots, when increased, become the five powers, namely, the power of faith, the power of diligence, the power of mindfulness, the power of samadhi, and the power of wisdom. These are the five powers. What are the seven branches of enlightenment? They are: mindfulness as a branch of perfect enlightenment; discrimination of dharmas as a branch of perfect enlightenment; diligence as a branch of perfect enlightenment; joy as a branch of perfect enlightenment; tranquility as a branch of perfect enlightenment;
