He held a grand feast with offerings. He offered gifts and made offerings. At that time, the monks talked to each other, saying: Who is your Khenpo? Where did the student go? Who is your Dharma friend? They talked about it separately. They also talked about being killed by tigers, lions, and wild men, being carried away by water, dying from diseases, and so on. Each monk was filled with sorrow, uttering cries and beating their chests. Then, at that time, the king admonished them not to grieve or cry. The monks did not listen, and the king was also unhappy, so he turned away and went to sleep. While sleeping, he made a wish: I have taken refuge in the Sangha of ordinary beings and made offerings, but I have not seen the face of an Arhat. May I see the face of an Arhat. After he made this wish, a worldly deity appeared in a dream: On the mountain called Gandhamadana (गंधमादन, Gandhamadana, intoxicating fragrance), there is a son of the merchant Norzang (सुधनपुत्ररत्नश, Sudhanaputraratnaśa, son of good wealth) named Sudhana Putrara Rna Sha, who was ordained and named Surata (सुरत, Surata, well protected), who has attained the fruit of Arhatship. Invite him and give him respect and offerings. If you confess your sins to him, your sins will be purified, and your doubts will be dispelled. After the deity showed him this, the king woke up and immediately sent a messenger to invite the Arhat Surata from the mountain of Gandhamadana. He came to the king's palace, and the king respectfully prostrated, made offerings, and gave him respect and offerings. At that time, on the night of the fourteenth, among the Sangha gathered together, the newly joined monks requested the Khenpo Shyakya, who knew the three pitakas, to recite the Pratimoksha (प्रातिमोक्ष, Prātimokṣa, individual liberation). As a result, Shyakya said: What does a blind man need a mirror for? If you have no nose and ears, what is there to see? You preach the Vinaya, but you do not act according to the Vinaya. What is the use of preaching the Vinaya to those who do not keep the precepts? At that time, the Arhat named Surata roared like a lion and said: I have received the precepts of the Blessed One Buddha, and until now I have not broken even a blade of grass's worth of precepts. Do not say such things, recite the Pratimoksha! The Khenpo Shyakya also recognized him as an Arhat, and was very

Shamed, he said nothing. A disciple of Śiṣya-ka, a monk named Aṃ-ga-da, meaning "the assembly of the army is terrifying," stood up from the assembled crowd and said to the Arhat named Su-ra-ta: "Why do you speak such words to my Khenpo? You have no discipline and do not know the Vinaya. Why do you contradict my Khenpo, who is skilled in the three baskets?" He angrily closed the door, beat and killed the Arhat. At that time, the Yaksha Da-dhi-mu-kha, who loved the Dharma, also known as Śo-gdon-dir-rga-mu-kha, appeared with a vajra in his hand and said to the monk Aṃ-ga-da: "Why did you kill the Arhat?" Having said that, he drew out the vajra and killed him. At that time, a monk named Ge-rad beat and killed Khenpo Śiṣya-ka. After that, the Sangha became completely chaotic, killing each other, and not a single one was left alive. At that time, the gods, nagas, and other Dharma protectors in the sky were displeased, and the tears of their weeping fell like rain of blood and fire. The sky became hail-filled and dark. Lightning and thunder roared. A star named Dhū-ma-ke-tu appeared, emitting black smoke from its body, which caused the stars and moon to lose their light, and nothing could be seen. At that time, the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens and Mā-yā-de-vī and other retinues came there and collected all the colored robes of the Sangha and took them away. At that time, the king said, "Why is there such a great commotion?" Someone reported, "The Sangha is in conflict and killing each other." The king was displeased and arose at dawn to go to the temple outside the city, and saw some monks beheaded, some monks with their eyes gouged out, and some monks with their hands and feet cut off, and thus dying in various ways. He searched for the corpses of the Arhat and Khenpo Śiṣya-ka, who was skilled in the three baskets, and found the corpses of both. He placed them under his left and right armpits and said, "The Arhat is my father, and Śiṣya-ka is the treasure of the Dharma. Now that these two have passed away, from now on my body and life are no longer precious, and I will give the kingdom to anyone who wants it." Having said this, his eyes also went blind, and he could see nothing.
