The suffering of poverty! Poverty is no different from death. I am not dying because of foolishness!" Having said this, he sighed deeply and sat in silence. After that, there was a well in the courtyard of his house. His wife, in order to fetch water, tied a bucket with a rope and lowered it into the well, intending to draw water up. But after a while, she still couldn't lift it. She then said to her gambler husband, "Sir, I can't lift this bucket, please come and take a look." After that, he also began to try to lift it up. After a while, he also couldn't lift it, so the two of them called their son. After that, all three of them tore their skin and flesh, and with great effort, they finally lifted the bucket. After a while, they saw that under the bucket were hanging five copper pots filled with gold and silver. After that, the gambler king saw the extremely wonderful result of giving in this life, and his eyes widened in amazement. His heart was filled with joy, and he said in verse, "Wonderful! He who has abandoned all faults, the field of the essence of virtue. Now I have sown the seed, now it ripens into fruit immediately." Having said this. After that, his wife also widened her eyes in amazement and said, "Sir, what do you mean by this?" He explained the situation in detail. After that, he saw the wonderful ripening of the most pleasing fruit of virtue accumulated in this very life, and he was amazed. The news spread from one person to another, and it spread throughout the entire royal palace. Hearing this news, many people were amazed and praised, saying to each other, "Wonderful! It is truly wonderful! The greatness of merit is indeed great!" After that, they suddenly became rich, possessing a large amount of wealth and enjoyment, and they directly saw the result of merit. Therefore, he developed strong faith in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and gave them great respect. After that, he made extensive offerings to the Tathagata's stupa every day, and also listened to the Dharma, and every day he fully satisfied the monks and practitioners appointed by the Sangha with delicious food.

Brahmins, the poor, the sick, and other beggars were also completely filled with whatever they desired with wealth. He also had a great monastery built, fully equipped with all kinds of utensils, and offered it to the Sangha of monks from the four directions, so that his fame spread throughout the entire royal palace. Later, after some time, the king of that royal palace passed away without a son. Then, the people of the city and the ministers, knowing that the gambler-victor was renowned for his great merit, installed him as king. Then, his name, which was called gambler-victor, disappeared, and he became known as King Victor, King Victor. Then, King Victor, in that very life, saw the supremely pleasing fruit of the ripening of merits, and developed faith, relying more and more on merit. He continuously gave alms and performed meritorious deeds, and properly took and abided by the precepts. The retinue of the queen, the ministers, the people of the city, the people of the countryside, and other assemblies of beings were also properly placed in merit. Later, King Victor, being subject to the law of death, was born sharing the same fate as the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin, and was born as the son of the king of the gods, Vasavartin. When he was born, a rain of divine jewels and a rain of beautiful garments fell from the sky. From his body, a light arose that illuminated all the palaces of Vasavartin, and even made the light of other Vasavartin gods without light. Seeing the wondrous and amazing ripening of the fruits of his merits, the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin were greatly astonished. Monks, if you think that the one who became the gambler-victor at that time and at that moment was someone else, you should not view it that way. The king of merit-power himself became the gambler-victor at that time and at that moment. Having heard the sacred Dharma and having developed faith in his mind, he offered to the Dharma speaker an umbrella and two pairs of shoes, as well as a monastic robe and a

Through the maturation of the karma of whatever conch shells I offered, five treasures also appeared in that very lifetime. He was also placed in the position of the lord of royal power. Through the maturation of that very karma, for thirty-six times he became the lord of the royal power of the gods of Paranirmitavasavartin. For thirty-six times he became the lord of the royal power of the Nirmanarati gods. For thirty-six times he became the lord of the royal power of the Tushita gods. For thirty-six times he became the lord of the royal power of the Yama gods. For thirty-six times he became the lord of the royal power of the Trayastrimsha gods. For thirty-six times he became the lord of the royal power of the Four Great Kings. For many hundreds of thousands of times he became a Chakravartin king ruling the four continents, a Dharma king, endowed with Dharma, endowed with the seven precious things. His seven precious things were of such a nature, namely the precious wheel, the precious elephant, the precious horse, the precious jewel, the precious woman, the precious householder, and the seventh, the precious minister. He had a thousand sons, all of whom were brave, majestic, possessed of the most excellent limbs, and utterly capable of destroying the enemy forces. Without harm or effort, he perfectly subdued and established this entire great earth up to the edge of the ocean through Dharma and justice. Then, the Blessed One at that time spoke in verse: By what cause does one become A great lord of oneself? The Buddhas, the benefactors, Declared this in the world. Having heard of these great miracles, And these wonders, Who, even among the wise and those born into black castes, Would not develop faith? Therefore, wishing well for myself, And desiring great self-mastery, Here, remembering the Buddha's teachings,
