Then (the Buddha) also went there by means of miraculous power, untied the rope from her neck, and rescued that girl. There are six rare and wonderful things that occur in the world: the Tathagata, the Dharma and Vinaya spoken by the Tathagata, being born as a human, being born in a place where the noble ones reside, having complete faculties, having a desire for virtuous Dharma, these are rare and wonderful things that occur in the world. Then, the Blessed One taught the girl the Dharma that was appropriate for her. After hearing it, the girl destroyed the twenty high peaks of the mountain of the view of the aggregates with the vajra of wisdom, and realized the fruit of stream-entry. After that, she gained faith, offered food to the Blessed One, and also offered clothes. After that, the girl's ugliness disappeared, and she became beautiful, like a goddess, illuminating the entire room with light. The Blessed One also returned. Then, those friends thought: If his wife is indeed very ugly, he must be unwilling to show her to us out of jealousy, fearing that we will laugh at him. Why don't we get him drunk with different kinds of wine, take the keys, and go to his house to see his wife. So, they got Ganga drunk with different kinds of strong wine, took the keys, went to his house, opened the doors, and saw the girl. After seeing her, they were also surprised, and thought: It's a pity that Ganga didn't let us see her. Then, they returned, woke up Ganga who was sleeping because of being drunk, and said to him: Ganga, it's great that you married such an ugly wife. After that, Ganga became even more unhappy, thinking: Not only will I be punished, but I will also be ridiculed. So, he unhappily returned to his house, opened the door, and saw his wife as beautiful as a forest goddess sitting there when the flowers are in full bloom in the forest, and asked: Good woman, what is this? What did you do to become so beautiful? After that, she told him everything that had happened.

and blamed her. Having heard that, she also gained faith in the Blessed One. Then, after a while, that daughter eventually asked her family and went forth into the Blessed One's teachings. Through diligence, practice, and effort, she realized that this wheel of five-eyed samsara is shaking and unstable, and she determined that all conditioned phenomena are of the nature of decay, fall, dissipation, and destruction. Having abandoned all defilements, she directly realized the state of an Arhat. As an Arhat, she became free from desire in the three realms, possessing a mind that equates gold and ashes, similar to the sky and the palm of the hand, cooled like sandalwood soaked in water, having shattered the shell of ignorance with wisdom, having obtained wisdom, supernormal knowledge, and individual perfect knowledge, not looking to the gains, attachments, and honors of existence, becoming an object of worship, remembrance, and reverence by the gods with their retinues. Then, the monks became doubtful and asked the Buddha, the Blessed One, who cuts off all doubts: "Venerable One, what deeds did Rashtra do to be born into a wealthy family? What deeds did he do to become ugly? And how did he directly realize the state of an Arhat after going forth?" The Blessed One replied: "Monks, Rashtra himself, in other past lives, accumulated merit and possessed complete conditions, coming like a flood, and having done and accumulated those deeds that will not be wasted. Who else would experience those deeds that Rashtra himself did and accumulated? Monks, the deeds done and accumulated will not mature in the external earth element, nor will they mature in the water element, fire element, or wind element. But the virtuous and non-virtuous deeds done and accumulated will only mature in the aggregates, elements, and sense bases that are grasped. The deeds of sentient beings will not be lost even after hundreds of kalpas. When the conditions come together and the time is ripe, they will mature into their own fruit. Monks, in the past, in the city of Varanasi, there was a merchant's wife who was fierce.

Rough, and a miser. When the Buddhas do not appear in the world, the solitary Buddhas are compassionate to the poor and afflicted, live in remote dwellings, and appear in the world as the sole objects of offering. Then, after some time, an ugly solitary Buddha went to his house, and he scolded him loudly, saying, 'You ugly fellow, what do you want in my house?' Then he drove him out of the house. Then, in order to benefit that person, that solitary Buddha appeared in the sky like a swan king spreading its wings, and showed various kinds of miracles. Then, the merchant's wife felt remorse, confessed to him, and also offered food, and made a prayer, saying, 'May I not experience the karmic result of scolding the solitary Buddha! May I also attain such Dharma! May I please a teacher who is even more excellent than this! May I not displease the teacher!' Monks, what do you think? The one who was the merchant's wife at that time was this Rasa. The karmic result of her offering food to the solitary Buddha caused her to be born into a wealthy royal family. Speaking unpleasant words and driving people out of the house caused her to become ugly. Furthermore, during the time of the Blessed One Kashyapa, she became a renunciate, and there she studied and practiced, becoming skilled in the five aggregates, skilled in the eighteen elements, skilled in the twelve sense bases, skilled in the twelve links of dependent origination, skilled in what is and is not, and guarding the conduct of purity, and therefore now she has realized the state of an Arhat. Monks, thus it is said that black deeds are definitely black, and their results are definitely black. White deeds are definitely white, and their results are definitely white. Mixed deeds, their results are also mixed. Monks, therefore, abandon deeds that are definitely black and mixed deeds, and focus solely on deeds that are definitely white. Monks, you should do so.
