In verses, he spoke: Alas! All conditioned things are impermanent, they are of the nature of arising and ceasing. Having arisen, they cease, their pacification is bliss. When the Buddha, the Bhagavan, had just passed into complete nirvana, Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world, spoke in verses: In this world, all sentient beings will surely abandon their bodies. In this world, the incomparable teacher, such a Tathāgata, the powerful one, the one with eyes, has passed into complete nirvana. When the Buddha, the Bhagavan, had just passed into complete nirvana, the venerable Mahākāśyapa spoke in verses: Possessing a steadfast mind, the protector, the breath that moves internally and externally has ceased, unmoving, relying on peace, the one with eyes has passed into complete nirvana. The teacher who possesses all kinds of excellence, when he passed away, at that time a great collapse occurred, at that time a terrifying sound was made. With a fearless mind, he accepted all feelings, like a lamp that has been extinguished, his mind was liberated. When seven days had passed since the Buddha, the Bhagavan, had passed into complete nirvana, the venerable Ānanda, circumambulating the place where the Bhagavan's body was cremated, spoke in verses: The guide, the precious body of great miraculous power, who went to the world of Brahma, the flames from his own body burned his own body, he was wrapped in five hundred layers of clothing. With a thousand complete Dharma robes, the Buddha's body was completely wrapped. There, the firewood inside and outside, both forms were not burned. When a hundred years had passed since the Buddha, the Bhagavan, had passed into complete nirvana, in the city called Pāṭaliputra, King Aśoka was king, at that time there was wealth, prosperity, peace, good harvests, filled with people and many people, strife, fighting subsided, conflict, internal strife, thieves, famine, and diseases were absent, possessing rice, sugarcane, cattle, and buffalo, endowed with Dharma, the king of Dharma ruled according to Dharma. Then, later, at some time, the monks

He played and rejoiced with the queen. After he played and rejoiced, the queen became pregnant, and after eight or nine months, she gave birth to a son. The boy was handsome, pleasing to look at, and beautiful, with eyes like the eyes of the Kunga bird. Then, they held a birth celebration for him and discussed what to name the boy. The relatives said that because his eyes were like the eyes of the Kunga bird as soon as he was born, the boy should be named Kunga. After that, the boy Kunga was entrusted to eight nurses: two to hold him, two to nurse him, two to clean his dirt, and two to play with him. These eight nurses raised him with milk, yogurt, butter, ghee, butter essence, and all sorts of other excellent provisions, so that he grew strong like a lotus in a lake. Then, he was adorned with all sorts of ornaments and placed on the king's lap, and the king looked at him again and again, and was very pleased with his perfect form, saying, 'There is no one in the world whose form is like my son's.' At that time, in the village of Metok Khurchen in the land of Sa-dzin, a wealthy man had a son whose complexion surpassed that of humans but had not yet attained the complexion of the gods. When he was born, a precious pond filled with divine perfume appeared, as well as a large garden full of flowers and abundant fruits, and this garden could move. Wherever the boy went, the pond and the garden would appear. Then, the boy was named Dze-den. Later, after some time, when the boy had grown up, some merchants from the village of Metok Khurchen went to the Bur region of Patali for some business. They took gifts and went to see King Myanganme. Then, they prostrated at the king's feet, offered gifts, and sat before him. Then, King Myanganme showed them his son Kunga and asked, 'Merchants, have you ever seen anywhere such a person with such a special appearance as this?'

Those merchants joined their palms, bowed down to his feet, and begged not to be punished, and then reported to the king: 'O divine one, in our country, there is a boy named Handsome Youth, whose complexion surpasses that of humans. Although he has not attained the complexion of the gods, when he was born, a jewel pond filled with divine fragrant water appeared, and a large garden full of flowers and abundant fruits, and this garden could move. Wherever this boy goes, the pond and the garden will appear there.' Then, King Ashoka, upon hearing this, was greatly astonished and wanted to see it with his own eyes, so he sent messengers, saying: 'King Ashoka wishes to come and visit Handsome Youth, you should make whatever preparations are necessary.' Then, many common people were afraid, thinking: 'If the king comes here with a large army, wouldn't it cause a great disaster?' So, they prepared the boy's fine steed and sent a gift of a necklace of a million pearls to King Ashoka. The messenger went all the way and arrived at the city of Pataliputra (modern Patna, India), and took the necklace of a million pearls to see King Ashoka. Then, King Ashoka saw Handsome Youth's beautiful appearance and radiant complexion, as well as the divine pond and garden, and was immediately greatly astonished. Then, King Ashoka, in order to show the miracle to the Elder Upagupta, took Handsome Youth to the Kukkuṭārāma monastery. In that Kukkuṭārāma monastery, there were eighty thousand Arhats, including Upagupta. The monks who were studying and the virtuous ordinary people were twice their number. Then, he bowed to the Elder's feet and sat in front to listen to the Dharma. The Elder Upagupta also taught him the Dharma. This boy was also one whose mind was fully ripened, and after hearing the Dharma, he wanted to be ordained. He requested King Ashoka, and then was ordained by the Elder Upagupta. Through practice and effort, he attained the wheel of the five eyes.
