It is difficult! The monk asked again: Who is it that rushes towards the great mountain, slashing and stabbing with swords and weapons? Daga replied: It is a very brave minister of the king, who for a time rushes upon sharp weapons, swords, spears, and the edges of shaktis. After that, when his life ends, he will experience suffering for a long time in the great hell of sentient beings. That monk asked again: Whose is that great mountain of bones? Daga replied: If you want to know, those are the bones of your previous body. When the monk heard this, he was very frightened, all his hairs stood on end, and he also sweated. He said to the teacher: Before my heart breaks, please show me the causes and conditions of my past karma. Daga replied: The cycle of birth and death has no end or limit, and good and evil deeds will not disappear or be destroyed. Whatever deeds are done, their ripening will surely be experienced without fail. In the past, in this Jambudvipa, there was a king named Dharma-uttara, who loved generosity and discipline, was fond of listening to the Dharma, had a very compassionate heart, was not violent by nature, did not kill sentient beings, had the title of king, and ruled the country with the sacred Dharma. He was about twenty years old. At that time, he was temporarily absorbed in playing with people and marbles. A person committed a serious crime, and the ministers reported: Someone has committed a serious crime against the law, what should we do? The king was distracted by the marbles, so he ordered: Do it according to the law! The ministers sentenced him to death according to the law, and that person was executed. When the king finished playing with the marbles, he asked the ministers: What sentence did you give to the person who committed the crime? The ministers replied: We sentenced him to death according to the law. When the king heard this, he fainted and fell to the ground. The ministers sprinkled water on him and he stood up, shedding tears, and said: The decorations of the palace, the elephants, the horses, and the seven precious things, etc., will all remain here, and only I alone will fall into the hell of sentient beings.

It's like coming to experience suffering. Even if I don't become king, there will be a king ruling and residing in this palace. Even if I die before long, there will still be a king ruling. Because I haven't killed anyone, I am a king of a bad lineage. Where will I go in all my lives? Now I don't even want to be king. After saying this, he gave up the throne and guarded himself in the mountains, and the king lived like that. After the king's life ended, he was born as a crocodile in the great ocean, with a huge body, seven hundred yojanas long. Whether it's a king or a minister, if they rely on their power to kill living beings, or do improper things, or do things that harm living beings, they will mostly be born as crocodiles immediately after death, and many insects will live on their bodies. Because their bodies are itchy, they rub and drag themselves on the crystal mountains, and many insects are crushed to death. The blood of the insects turns the ocean red for about a hundred yojanas. Because of these sinful actions, they will fall into the great hell of living beings after they die. That crocodile, once it falls asleep, only wakes up once every hundred years. Because of the torment of hunger and thirst, it opens its mouth and goes to the seashore, just like a great river flowing into the ocean. At that time, about five hundred merchants entered the ocean to search for treasures, and they encountered the crocodile with its mouth open. The ship also sailed very quickly into the mouth that the crocodile wanted to devour. The merchants cried out loudly and said to each other: We will not die by being eaten by demons, let each of us remember what we rely on. Some of them recited the names of the Buddha (སངས་རྒྱས།,Buddha,बुद्ध,buddha,觉者), Dharma (ཆོས།,Dharma,धर्म,dharma,法), and Sangha (དགེ་འདུན།,Sangha,संघ,saṃgha,僧). Some called out the names of worldly gods, sacred mountains, asuras, parents, wives, sons, daughters, brothers, and relatives, saying: What we see today will be the last, and we will never see Jambudvipa again. At that time, they were almost about to enter the crocodile's mouth, and everyone said at the same time: We prostrate to the Buddha The crocodile also recited: We prostrate to the Buddha
