说：我有殊胜之法。国王听了这话，出城迎接，行礼后请他坐在铺设好的座位上。婆罗门坐在铺设好的座位上后，国王及其眷属合掌祈请：大导师您已为愚痴所蒙蔽，现在正是您开示殊胜之法的时机。婆罗门对国王说道：我所知道的这些，并非仅仅是现在才学会的。如果想听闻，仅仅这样是不够的。国王说：您想要什么就说吧，一切都如您所愿地施予。婆罗门对国王说道：大国王，如果您能在您的身上点燃一千盏灯来供养，我就传授佛法。国王听后非常高兴，立刻派遣一个信使，让他以迅雷不及掩耳之势前往百千由旬之外，向整个赡部洲宣告：迦那什尼巴利国王将在七日后为了佛法，在身上挖洞点燃一千盏灯。听到这个宣告后，人们各自悲痛欲绝，来到国王所在的地方，顶礼后说道：这个世界所有赖以生存的众生都依赖于您，就像盲人依赖向导，幼儿依赖母亲一样。如果国王您不在了，我们该依靠谁呢？如果您的身上点燃一千盏灯，无疑会失去生命。为了一个婆罗门，您为什么要舍弃这个世界的所有众生呢？当时，王后、王子、王储、五百位妃嫔以及成千上万的大臣们合掌祈求，但国王对本尊的信心坚定不移，无法动摇。他说：当我证得圆满菩提时，一定会救度你们。当时，许多人意识到国王对本尊的信心坚定不移，非常不高兴，哭天抢地地倒在地上。国王的想法是

Saying, "I have the supreme Dharma." When the king heard this, he went out to greet him, paid homage, and placed him on a prepared seat. After the Brahmin sat on the prepared seat, the king and his retinue, with palms joined, entreated, "Great Teacher, you have been obscured by ignorance, now is the time to expound and reveal the supreme Dharma." The Brahmin said to the king, "This knowledge that I have is not something I have just learned. If you wish to hear it, this alone is not sufficient." The king said, "Speak whatever you desire, and I will grant it all as you wish." The Brahmin said to the king, "Great King, if you can offer a thousand lamps lit on your body, then I will teach the Dharma." The king was overjoyed and immediately sent a messenger, who traveled at lightning speed to a hundred thousand yojanas away, proclaiming to the entire Jambudvipa, "King Kanishinipali will, in seven days, for the sake of the Dharma, pierce his flesh and light a thousand lamps." Upon hearing this proclamation, the people were filled with grief and arrived where the king was, prostrated, and said, "All beings in this world who depend on life rely on you, just as the blind rely on a guide, or a young child relies on its mother. If the king is no longer here, who shall we turn to for refuge? If a thousand lamps are lit on your body, you will undoubtedly lose your life. Why would you abandon all the beings of this world for the sake of a single Brahmin?" At that time, the queen, the prince, the crown prince, five hundred consorts, and tens of thousands of ministers pleaded with palms joined, but the king, firm in his devotion to his chosen deity, could not be swayed. He said, "When I attain perfect enlightenment, I will surely liberate you all." ་གྱུར་ཏེ་བྲམ་ཟེ་ལ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །ངའི་ལུས་ལ་མར་མེ་སྟོང་གཟུག་པའི་དུས་ལ་བབ་ཀྱིས། ཕུག་ཅིག་ཅེས་བསྒོ་བ་དང་། དེས་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ལུས་ཕུག་ནས་མར་མེའི་སྙིང་པོ་སྣུམ་གྱིས་བསྐུས་པ་དང་། འཁོར་མང་པོས་དེ་ལྟར་གྱུར་པ་དེ་དག་མཐོང་ནས། རི་འགྱེལ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་ལུས་ས་ལ་བརྡབས་སོ། །དེ་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོས་བྲམ་ཟེ་ལ་སྟོན་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ཐུགས་བརྩེ་བར་དགོངས་ཏེ། སྔར་བདག་ལ་ཆོས་བསྟན་ནས། དེའི་འོག་ཏུ་མར་མེ་ཚུགས་ཤིག །གལ་ཏེ་ཚེའི་དུས་བྱས་ན། ཆོས་ཐོས་པར་མི་འགྱུར་རོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། བྲམ་ཟེས་ཚིགས་སུ་བཅད་པ་འདི་དག་སྨྲས་སོ། །རྟག་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཟད་པར་འགྱུར། །མཐོ་བ་དེ་ཡང་མཐར་ལྷུང་ངོ་། །འདུ་བ་ཡོད་ན་བྲལ་བར་འོང་། །སྐྱེ་བ་ཡོད་ན་འཆི་བར་འགྱུར། །ཞེས་ཚིགས་སུ་བཅད་པ་འདི་སྨྲས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ། རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་དགའ་མགུ་རངས་ཏེ། འགྱོད་པའི་སེམས་མེད་བཞིན་དུ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་དམ་བཅས་སོ། །བདག་ཆོས་ཚོལ་བ་འདི་ཡང་སངས་རྒྱས་སུ་བསྒྲུབ་པའི་ཕྱིར་ཏེ། ཕྱིས་མངོན་པར་རྫོགས་པར་སངས་རྒྱས་པ་ན། ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་འོད་ཀྱིས་སེམས་ཅན་གཏི་མུག་གིས་མདོངས་པ་རྣམས་ཤིན་ཏུ་སྣང་བར་གྱུར་ཅིག་ཅེས་ཡི་དམ་བཅས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་གནམ་ས་ཡང་རབ་ཏུ་གཡོས་སོ། །གནས་གཙང་མའི་རིས་ ཀྱི་ལྷའི་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་བར་དུ་གཡོས་པས། ལྷ་དེ་དག་ནམ་མཁའ་ལས་བབས་ཏེ། ལུས་ཀྱིས་མཆོད་པའི་གནས་སུ་ལྷགས་སོ། །བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་དེའི་ལུས་དེ་ལྟར་ཞིག་པ་ལྷ་དེ་དག་གིས་མཐོང་ནས། སྟེང་གི་ནམ་མཁའ་ཡོངས་སུ་གང་བ་དེ་དག་ངུས་ཏེ། ངུས་པའི་མཆི་མ་ཆར་བཞིན་དུ་བབ་ནས། ལྷ་རྫས་ཀྱི་མེ་ཏོག་ཀྱང་ཆར་བཞིན་དུ་ཕབ་སྟེ། མཆོད་པ་བྱས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་བརྒྱ་བྱིན་ལྷའི་དབང་པོ་ཡང་རྒྱལ་པོ་གང་ན་བ་དེར་འོངས་ནས། རྣམ་པ་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས་བསྟོད་ཅིང་བསྔགས་ཏེ། འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་འདི་ལྟར་ཤིན་ཏུ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་གྱིས་གདུངས་པ་འདི་ལ་སེམས་འགྱོད་པར་མ་གྱུར་ཏམ། རྒྱལ་པོས་སྨྲས་པ། འགྱོད་པ་མེད་དོ། །བརྒྱ་བྱིན་གྱིས་སྨྲས་པ། རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་འདི་ལྟར་ལུས་འདར་ཞིང་ཉམས་མི་བདེ་བཞིན་དུ་འགྱོད་པ་མེད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་པ་འདི་ཅིས་ཡིད་ཆེས་པར་འགྱུར། རྒྱལ་པོས་སྨྲས་པ། གལ་ཏེ་བདག་ཐོག་མ་ནས་ཐ་མའི་བར་དུ་འགྱོད་པའི་སེམས་མེད་པ་ཡིན་ན། ལུས་ཀྱི་རྨ་འདི་སྔ་མ་བཞིན་དུ་སོས་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག་ཅེས་སྨྲས་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་ལུས་སྔ་མ་ཁོ་ན་བཞིན་དུ་རྨ་མེད་པར་གྱུར་ཏོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་དེའི་དུས་ན་རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་ནི་སངས་རྒྱས་ལགས་ཏེ། བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་སྔོན་ཡང་སེམས་ཅན་གྱི་སླད་དུ་མི་བཟད་པའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་བསྔོས་ཏེ་ཆོས་བརྙེས་ན། ད་ཅིའི་སླད་དུ་འགྲོ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྣང་བ་དང་། བྲལ་བར་ཡོངས་སུ་བཏང་སྟེ། མྱ་ངན་ལས་འདའ་བར་དགོངས། གཞན་ཡང་བཅོམ་ལྡན་འདས་སྔོན་འདས་པའི་དུས་ན་འཛམ་བུའི་གླིང་འདིར་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་བྱིང་ལིང་གར་ལི་ཞེས་བགྱི་བར་གྱུར་པ་ན། རྒྱལ་ཕྲན་རྣམས་ལ་དབང་བགྱིད་དེ། གྲོང་ཁྱེར་ནི་བརྒྱད་ཁྲི་བཞི་སྟོང་དང་ལྡན། བཙུན་མོ་དང་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་སླས་ནི་སྟོང་ཕྲག་ཉི་ཤུ་མངའ་སྟེ། རྒྱལ་ཚབ་དང་རྒྱལ་བུ་ནི་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་སྟེ། བློན་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་སྟོང་ཕྲག་བཅུ་མངའོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་དེ་སྙིང་རྗེ་དང་ལྡན་པས་འབངས་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་བུ་གཅིག་པ་དང་འདྲ་བར་དགོངས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་དེ་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ལ་མོས་ཤིང་དགའ་བས་བློན་པོ་ཅིག་ལ་བསྒོས་ནས་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་བཀར་བཏགས་སོ། །གང་སུ་ཡང་རུང་བ་ལ། མདོ་སྡེའམ་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ཡོད་པ་བདག་ལ་ བསྟན་པར་གྱུར་ན། ཅི་དང་ཅི་འདོད་པ་ཡིད་བཞིན་དུ་སྦྱིན་ནོ་ཞེས་བསྒོའོ། །དེ་ནས་བྲམ་ཟེའི་ལེའུ་ངུ་ཆུ་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་སྒོར་འོངས་ནས་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །བདག་ལ་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ཡོད་དེ། གང་ཐོས་པར་འདོད་པ་ལ་བསྟན་པར་བྱའོ། །ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་རྒྱལ་པོས་ཐོས་ནས་རབ་ཏུ་དགའ་མགུ་རངས་ཏེ། ཕྱི་རོལ་ཏུ་བསུས་ནས་རྐང་པ་ལ་མགོ་བོས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཏེ། ཚིག་སྙན་པར་སྨྲས་ནས། ཕོ་བྲང་གི་ནང་དུ་ཁྲིད་དེ། དེ་སྟན་བཏིང་བ་ལ་བཞག་ནས་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་ཏེ། འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །སྟོན་པ་ཆེན་པོ་བདག་ལ་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་བསྟན་དུ་གསོལ། བྲམ་ཟེས་སྨྲས་པ། བདག་གིས་ལུས་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་སྣ་ཚོགས་མྱོང་ནས་ཡུན་ཡང་རིང་པོ་ཞིག་ལོན་ཏེ། གདོད་ལོབས་པས། རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་ཐོས་པར་འདོད་ན། འདི་ཙམ་གྱིས་ཆོག་པ་མ་ཡིན་ནོ། །རྒྱལ་པོས་ཐལ་མོ་སྦྱར་ཏེ། ཅི་དང་ཅི་འདོད་པ་སྨྲོས་ཤིག་དང་། སྟོན་པ་ཁྱོད་ལ་མི་ཕངས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་འབུལ་ལོ། །བྲམ་ཟེས་སྨྲས་པ། གལ་ཏེ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ལུས་ལ་ལྕགས་གཟེར་སྟོང་གིས་བཏབ་ན། ཁྱོད་ལ་ཆོས་སྦྱིན་ནོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་པ་དང་། རྒྱལ་པོས་སྨྲས་པ། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་བགྱིའོ། །དེ་སྟེ་ཞག་བདུན་ན་དངོས་པོ་འདི་དག་བསྒྲུབ་བོ་ཞེས་སྨྲས་སོ། །དེའི་ཚེ་ན་རྒྱལ་པོ་དེས་ཕོ་ཉ་ཞིག་གླང་པོ་ཆེ་རྒྱང་གྲགས་བརྒྱད་ཁྲི་བཞི་སྟོང་སྙེད་དུ་འགྲོ་བ་ཞིག་ལ་བསྐྱོན་ཏེ། འཛམ་བུའི་གླིང་ཀུན་ཏུ་འདི་སྐད་ཅེས་བསྒོའོ། །རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་བྱིང་ལིང་གར་ལིས། དེ་སྟེ་ཞག་བདུན་ན

于是对婆罗门这样说道：‘我身体上要插一千盏灯的时候到了，挖洞吧！’他挖了国王的身体，用灯油的精华涂抹，许多眷属看到那样的情况，像山倒塌一样，身体倒在地上。然后国王想到婆罗门是大导师，心怀慈悲，说道：‘先给我讲法，之后再插灯。如果寿命终结，就听不到佛法了。’婆罗门说了这些偈颂：‘一切常住终将灭尽，高者最终也会堕落。有聚合就有分离，有生就有死。’刚说完这些偈颂，国王非常高兴，没有后悔的心，立下这样的誓言：‘我寻求佛法，也是为了成就佛果。将来现证圆满正觉时，愿以智慧之光，照亮被愚痴蒙蔽的众生。’刚立下誓言，天地也剧烈震动。震动到净居天的宫殿，诸神从空中降临，来到以身体供养的地方。诸神看到菩萨的身体那样损坏，充满天空，他们哭泣着，哭泣的眼泪像雨一样落下，天界的鲜花也像雨一样落下，进行供养。那时，帝释天也来到国王所在的地方，以各种方式赞叹和赞美，说道：‘伟大的国王，像这样被极度痛苦折磨，心中没有后悔吗？’国王说：‘没有后悔。’帝释天说：‘伟大的国王，像这样身体颤抖，不舒服，却说没有后悔，这怎么能让人相信呢？’国王说：‘如果我从始至终都没有后悔的心，愿身体的伤口像以前一样痊愈。’刚说完，身体就恢复到以前一样，没有伤口了。那时，那时，那位国王就是佛陀。

Then he said to the Brahmin, 'The time has come for a thousand lamps to be placed on my body. Make holes!' He pierced the king's body, anointed it with the essence of lamp oil, and many attendants, seeing what had happened, collapsed to the ground like a falling mountain. Then the king, thinking of the Brahmin as a great teacher, full of compassion, said, 'First teach me the Dharma, and then place the lamps. If my life ends, I will not hear the Dharma.' The Brahmin spoke these verses: 'All that is permanent will perish. The high will eventually fall. Where there is gathering, there will be separation. Where there is birth, there will be death.' As soon as he spoke these verses, the king was delighted and, without any regret, made this vow: 'My seeking of the Dharma is also for the sake of attaining Buddhahood. When I later attain perfect enlightenment, may the light of wisdom illuminate all beings obscured by ignorance.' As soon as he made this vow, the earth and sky shook violently. It shook up to the palace of the gods in the Pure Abodes, and those gods descended from the sky and arrived at the place of offering with their bodies. Seeing the Bodhisattva's body so damaged, those gods, filling the entire sky above, wept. Tears of weeping fell like rain, and divine flowers also fell like rain, and they made offerings. At that time, Indra, the lord of the gods, also came to where the king was, and praised and extolled him in various ways, saying, 'Great king, do you not have regret in your heart for being tormented by such great suffering?' The king said, 'I have no regret.' Indra said, 'Great king, how can it be believed that you say you have no regret when your body is trembling and you are so uncomfortable?' The king said, 'If I have had no regret from beginning to end, may the wounds on my body be healed as before.' As soon as he said this, his body was restored to its former state, without wounds. At that time, at that time, that king was the Buddha.

Bhagavan, in the past, you also dedicated yourself to unbearable suffering for the sake of sentient beings, thereby attaining the Dharma. Now, for what reason do you intend to pass into nirvana, completely abandoning all beings from the light of the Dharma? Furthermore, Bhagavan, in the past, in a past age, in this Jambudvipa, there was a great king named Bingling Garli, who ruled over various small kingdoms, possessed eighty-four thousand cities, twenty thousand consorts and palace maids, five hundred princes and crown princes, and ten thousand great ministers. That king was compassionate and regarded all his subjects as his only child. At that time, that great king was filled with faith and joy in the sacred Dharma, so he commanded a minister and decreed: "Whoever has the Sutras or the sacred Dharma and shows it to me, I will give him whatever he desires, according to his wishes." After that, a Brahmin named Leu Ngu Chu came to the palace gate and said: "I have the sacred Dharma, and I will show it to anyone who wants to hear it." When the king heard this, he was overjoyed and went out to greet him, bowed to his feet with his head, and spoke pleasant words. Then he led him into the palace, had him sit on a prepared cushion, and with his palms together, said: "Great teacher, please teach me the sacred Dharma." The Brahmin said: "I have experienced various kinds of suffering throughout my body and have learned it for a long time. Great king, if you want to hear it, this alone is not enough." The king put his palms together and said: "Tell me what you want, teacher, and I will offer you everything without hesitation." The Brahmin said: "If a thousand iron nails are hammered into your body, I will give you the Dharma." The king said: "So be it. In seven days, these things will be prepared." At that time, that king sent a messenger riding an elephant that could travel eighty-four thousand yojanas, proclaiming throughout Jambudvipa: "The great king Bingling Garli, in seven days
