Then, when you attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, and satisfy beings with nectar, may we become your first Shravakas. The Bodhisattva said: You are murderers, taking the lives of others, how can I make such people the first Shravakas? They said: Great compassionate one, what do you command us? The Bodhisattva said: Please truly take and abide in the path of the ten virtuous actions. Then, as soon as they heard this, those Yakshas truly took the path of the ten virtuous actions and made a vow: Alas, with this root of virtue, when this one attains the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, may we become the first Shravakas of this one. Monks, what do you think? The one who was the king of loving-kindness at that time, abiding in the conduct of a Bodhisattva, was none other than myself. The five Yakshas who stole the splendor at that time were these five monks of the Sangha. At that time, I satisfied them with my own flesh and blood and placed them on the path of the ten virtuous actions. Now, I also satisfy them with the essence of the sacred Dharma, and place them in the ultimate attainment of eternity and the blissful Nirvana. The story called Black Wind is as follows: The foundation was laid while residing in Nyen Du (Shravasti). At that time, in Nyen Du (Shravasti), about five hundred merchants carried goods and set out for another country. Gradually, they went on and on until they reached a large, empty forest. In that forest, there lived a fierce and terrifying Yaksha who robbed of glory and took the lives of others. He sent a great black wind and rushed upon those merchants. Then, those merchants became helpless and terrified, and began to pray to all the gods. A Upasaka (lay devotee) was also among those travelers, and when he saw the merchants helpless, he said: Alas, what good is it to seek refuge in these who are not protectors? Take refuge in the Bhagavan!

Now it will save you from poverty, hardship, and destitution. Then, as soon as they heard this, those merchants immediately took refuge in the Blessed One, and they prostrated to the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha. Venerable one, the Blessed One does not fail to see, know, or comprehend anything that has happened in the past, will happen in the future, or is happening in the present. Alas, Blessed One, please save us from poverty, hardship, and destitution, and grant us life. The Buddha, the Blessed One, is the guide of the one and only path, the master of the two kinds of knowledge and wisdom, skilled in the three unmixed mindfulness establishments, fearless with the four fearlessnesses, liberated from going to the five destinies, skilled in the six sense sources, whose field of activity is the seven branches of enlightenment, meditative in the eight liberations, entering into the nine successive abidings, possessing the power of the ten powers, the true lion roaring the great lion's roar. According to the Dharma, three times during the day and three times during the night, six times during the day and night, the Buddha looks at the world with the Buddha's eye, who is declining, who is prospering, who is poor and suffering, who is harmed, who is poor, suffering, and harmed, who is inclined to evil destinies, who is falling into evil destinies, who has fallen into evil destinies, who is rescued from evil destinies and placed in the heavens, liberation, and fruition. Who is sinking in the swamp of misconduct, pull them out by the hand. Who does not have the seven noble riches, let them have dominion over the seven noble riches. Who has not generated roots of virtue, let them generate them. Who has already generated roots of virtue, let them fully ripen. Who has already fully ripened roots of virtue, let them pierce through with the sword of wisdom. For whom should the world adorned by the appearance of the Buddha, with its fruits, be made? Thus, he engages in the wisdom of seeing. The ocean is the abode of aquatic creatures, and sometimes the waves may subside. The son to be tamed
