Grasping the land, if one says, "We and this person are sons of the same father," thus distinguishing and dividing, then those who each call ancestor, from their father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, all the way to the first ancestor, this lineage, if now each considers them our ancestors, then as worldly people say, after passing away from here without taking rebirth, but associating with siblings in the next life, then all those of different races, different factions, and even those who have become enemies, must associate from the same direction. O great king, even in this present life with form, those in darkness and shadows cannot see each other, so how can formless beings after death see each other and associate? O great king, even beings with form in this present life cannot show their form in places that are invisible and have different abodes, so how can they show their form after death? O great king, some worldly people, seeking fame and gain, deceive others with repetitive words, one should not listen to them. O great king, great king, will those who are rich, proud, and fat in this life also be rich, proud, and fat in the next life? Will those who are poor, decayed, and weak in this life also be poor, decayed, and weak in the next life? Or are the two different, but alternating with each other? What is the meaning of what you said? O great king, even in this life before death, some beings are born rich, proud, and fat, but from fifty or sixty years old until old age, they are poor, decayed, and weak. Some are born poor and decayed in their youth, but from fifty or sixty years old until old age, they become rich, proud, and fat, so what need to say about the impermanence of wealth and poverty after death? O great king, for example, in the world, when the conditions of warmth and moisture gather for grass and trees, leaves and petals grow, but they wither in cold and dry conditions, just as generosity and other virtuous causes make one rich, proud, and fat, while stealing and stinginess...
