Because of knowing each place, there is not the slightest difference. That is the arising of mind's awareness of attached form, and being separated from both form and feeling. Regarding the feeling of attached form as being like a water bubble, and contemplating the exhaustion and destruction of arising phenomena, these are observations without fabrication. These arising from the three realms are also the door to wishless liberation. Regarding desire, there are inexpressible feelings, and obtaining meditation of the three times, these are also the door to increasing suffering through fabrication. The basis of desire in the three realms, without a feeler and without afflictions, this is also the door to signless liberation. Regarding the basis of desire, feeling neither taken nor abandoned, the path of words is selfless, without attachment to letters, the feeling of the three realms has no object and no bewilderment, this is also for the sake of fabricating peace. Selflessness and emptiness are the door to liberation. Regarding all of the three realms, feeling has no substance, no appearance, no letters, is inexpressible, without exhaustion, and without attachment to anything. In this way, the afflictions of the highest, middle, and lowest levels will be cut off. Just as the sky has no mixture, so too, desire completely arises, and feeling is unmixed and inexpressible, without duality, and for the consciousness of mind and intellect, the feeling of the three realms has no attachment to anything, is impermanent, suffering, empty, selfless, and the root feeling of desire has no characteristic attachment, and cultivating patience that is free from characteristics, this is also to be regarded as the patience of a Bodhisattva closely dwelling with sentient beings. Similarly, the ear to sound, the nose to smell, the tongue to taste, the body to touch, the mind to dharma, whatever the mind remembers of the past, future, and present arising of the basis of desire, distinguishing agreeable dharmas, and remembering with joy the form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, the consciousness of mind also arises for that. Feeling is produced by the basis of desire. For that, the Bodhisattva also has the consciousness of mind and feeling in the same way.

One should truly understand the basis of attachment, the Alaya-consciousness. The nature of form is like an illusion-like mind, and what is called consciousness is expressed by the terms mind and intellect. The past mind has ceased, the future has not yet arisen, and the present mind and consciousness do not exist either. It is momentary, impermanent, without body, without essence, without letters, without characteristics, without action, without change, ungraspable, unspeakable, without darkness, without light, not singular, not different, without duality, without semblance of duality, without substance, without pride, without elaboration, without offering, without removal, separated from all Alaya-consciousness, like a moon in water, the place of past, future, and present divisions, the external objects that manifest joy, the mind and consciousness change according to how the conditions appear. Just as the sky does not appear to the sun and moon, the characteristic of the absence of both sky and appearance is expressed only by name, similarly, for the mind and consciousness, the characteristic of both the place of attachment, appearance, and unspeakable, is also expressed only by name, and is also non-dual, without dwelling, without form, unteachable, without essence, without letters, from the absence of a beggar to the one who shows, with the edge of desire, it empties those. For the desire of the three times, the Alaya-consciousness and so on. In this, there is no place, therefore, between no attachment to anything, thus the afflictions of the superior, middling, and inferior are pacified. Just as the sky is without darkness and without light, and without characteristics, so too the Alaya-consciousness of the mind is without darkness and without light, and without characteristics, without essence, the mind and consciousness are not attached to anything, the consciousness is not attached to anything, the Alaya-consciousness of the desire of the three realms, feeling is impermanent, suffering, empty, and selfless.
