Now, sentient beings, through the three impure actions, commit the ten non-virtuous deeds. By engaging in the act of wrong desire, their roots and foundations become subtle and weak, making it difficult to hold anything in their minds. If the medicine and the illness do not match, how should one act to enter the Great Vehicle? The Buddha spoke to the Bodhisattva Akashagarbha, saying: "I have a method to enter the Great Vehicle." The Bodhisattva Akashagarbha said to the Buddha: "Bhagavan, I have heard in the past that the Tathagata, the Perfectly Enlightened One, taught the Dharma of the Six Perfections to those of the Great Vehicle, the Dharma of the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination to those of the Intermediate Vehicle, the Dharma of the Four Noble Truths to those of the Lesser Vehicle, and the Dharma of the Ten Virtues to those of wrong desire. All are combined with the forms of illness, and the excellent medicine of the Dharma is taught. Why then teach the Dharma of the One Vehicle, causing this person to follow four paths?" The Buddha spoke to the Bodhisattva Akashagarbha, saying: "This Dharma of the path of the One Vehicle that I teach is like one earth that generates all things and can nourish all. Also, like the moisture of the rain of Dharma that pervades all, satisfying all that grows from the earth. For example, all sentient beings in the world, humans and non-humans, eat the food of one kind of rice. All who eat it, their bodies grow, and their lives are sustained. Causing all to grow is like the king of medicine, the skilled pharmacist who combines all precious and good medicines. If sentient beings are afflicted with fever, it cools them; if sentient beings are afflicted with cold, it warms them. If they suffer from fever, it subsides; if they suffer from swelling, it dissipates, and there is no disease that cannot be cured. My teaching of the One Vehicle to cure the root diseases of that person is the same. " The Bodhisattva Akashagarbha said to the Buddha: "Bhagavan, how should one act to lead beings who commit the ten non-virtuous deeds and engage in wrong desire into the path of the One Vehicle?" The Buddha spoke to the Bodhisattva Akashagarbha, saying: "Son of good family, my Dharma of the One Vehicle possesses the Three Vehicles, and in addition, the Dharma called the Three Vehicles is taught."

It is not. Listen carefully, and I will explain it to you in detail. Noble son, all paths of the sacred Dharma, the basis of the outer form, are one in essence. If it is non-dual, then it is taught as three vehicles because of the use of skillful means. One should observe that all the teachings of the three vehicles converge into one. Although all sentient beings have four forms, in the essence of the Buddha, there is no duality. How is it so? The essence of all Buddhas and all sentient beings are in harmony as one. If the sutras are consistent and there is no difference between sentient beings, then sentient beings' own minds differentiate distinctions. In reality, even the Buddha is a sentient being, and sentient beings are also Buddhas. All sentient beings also possess the Buddha-nature. The essence of the Buddha and the essence of sentient beings are one, and their essence is equal and undifferentiated. Because it is also equal to all dharmas, I shall enter the one vehicle through skillful means. Noble son, the castle of the minds of those sentient beings should be strictly guarded so that thieves do not invade. The great gate of the six consciousnesses is guarded by Vajra, and one should examine the place where the mind dwells. If one knows the place where the mind dwells, then in the place where the mind dwells, there is no mind. If there is no mind, then originally there is no abiding of the mind. In all evils, there is no abiding of the mind, and if there is no abiding of the mind in the aggregates, realms, and sources, then there is no mind of the limb of desire. If there is no limb of desire, then there is no desire and seeking of the mind. If the mind seeks nothing, then the mind does not abide anywhere. If it does not abide anywhere, then its name is called the abiding of the mind. Noble son, all the sufferings experienced by the minds of sentient beings are due to the agitation of the six consciousnesses and the reason for not abiding. If the mind abides, then originally there is no suffering. If there is no suffering, then originally it is enlightenment. Bodhisattva Akashagarbha asked the Buddha: World Honored One, by what power do all the sufferings experienced by all sentient beings and the non-abiding of the mind arise, and create the limb of desire? May the Buddha look upon them with compassion, liberate them, and speak to the masses. The Buddha said: All sentient beings are agitated by the limb of the mind.
