There are also those who decline. Some decline in discipline but not in view. Some decline in view but not in discipline. Some decline in both discipline and view. Some, although they do not decline in superior conduct, faith, discipline, and view, are controlled by evil friends and abide and engage in what should not be done. Some, although they rely on virtuous friends, are foolish by nature, dull like sheep, and cannot even distinguish the differences in the nature of actions. Even if they hear the virtuous friend explain the Dharma of good and non-good, they do not understand, comprehend, or know it. Because of these reasons, they abide and engage in what should not be done. Because of greed for wealth, jewels, and various necessities of life, they are restless and abide and engage in what should not be done. They are tormented and afflicted by many compounded diseases, and they perform worldly rituals and recite mantras, etc. Because of these reasons, they abide and engage in what should not be done. In this way, because of these ten reasons for abiding and engaging in what should not be done, the root of beings' discipline is lost, and they do not become vessels of the noble ones in this life. Because of the loss of discipline, they will fall into the lower realms. Son of lineage, if someone declines in superior conduct but does not decline in faith, they abide, and because of engaging in any one of what should not be done, they lose one root transgression. Therefore, they are very fearful and afraid, and with shame and embarrassment, they do not do anything in the future and abandon sinful actions. The Tathagata, for the sake of benefiting them, calls them defiled practitioners. Why? Because even if they have committed such a great sin, they will immediately confess it and repent with shame and embarrassment. By confessing separately with shame and embarrassment in this way, in order to purify the sin, they will cut off the continuation of committing sins in the future. Although they are not included in all the activities and rituals of practitioners, and should be expelled, and do not have the right to use all the necessities of life for practitioners, these individuals will become vessels of the Dharma of the three vehicles, so.

The Tathagata, out of compassion, sometimes teaches them the Dharma of the Hearer Vehicle, sometimes teaches them the Dharma of the Solitary Realizer Vehicle, and sometimes teaches them the Dharma of the Unsurpassed Vehicle. In two or three lifetimes, through the power of aspiration and the power of virtuous friends, all the sinful deeds they have done are purified. Some attain the fruit of the Hearer Vehicle, some pass into nirvana through the Solitary Realizer Vehicle, and some may realize the meaning of the vast and unsurpassed Vehicle. Likewise, it should be known that those who have degenerated in discipline but have not degenerated in view. If a person's aspiration has degenerated but their superior conduct has not, the Tathagata, in order to benefit them, teaches the Dharma of cultivating the four abodes of Brahma. This is a vessel of the Hearer Vehicle, and this is endowed with a vessel of the Solitary Realizer Vehicle. If a person has degenerated in both superior conduct and aspiration, they will not become a vessel of Dharma for any vehicle. However, the Tathagata, in order to benefit them, teaches the praise of generosity. If a person's view has degenerated but their discipline has not, they will not become a vessel of Dharma for any vehicle. However, the Tathagata, in order to benefit them, teaches them the Dharma of dependent origination, causing them to abandon the evil of evil views, and they realize the Dharma of Hearers or Solitary Realizers in this very body, or they cause them to realize it in a future life. If a person has degenerated in both discipline and view, they are not a vessel of noble Dharma. However, the Tathagata, in order to benefit them, teaches the praise of generosity. If a person has not degenerated in superior conduct, aspiration, discipline, and view, but is controlled by evil friends and relies on them, the Tathagata, in order to benefit them, praises and teaches the path of the ten virtuous actions. If a person has relied on a virtuous friend but is of a wicked and foolish nature, dull like a sheep, and cannot understand either good or non-good, the Tathagata, in order to benefit them, teaches the praise for the sake of becoming accustomed to recitation. If a person
