In the world called Immaculate, also known as the Land of Bliss, there now resides a Tathagata, an Arhat, a Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, who teaches the Dharma. He dispatched the World Honored Shakyamuni Buddha to the Saha world to benefit, bring happiness, and please the beings of Jambudvipa with little merit. Go and proclaim the Great Cloud Buddha's Great Sutra of all Buddha-Dharma, and hold this samadhi. Great Cloud Essence, have you seen the self-nature body of this (Buddha)? Reporting to the World Honored One, I have seen the self-nature body of this (Buddha), whose size is nine hundred and ninety million yojanas, with a huge body and blazing light. World Honored One, how wonderful! What is the name of this vast-bodied Bodhisattva? If the body of an ordinary person is like this, then what will the transformed body be like? How can all sentient beings be benefited? Please, World Honored One, speak for the benefit of all sentient beings. The World Honored One taught: The Bodhisattva named Immeasurable Light. This skillful means of the Immaculate Light Goddess is here to receive this prophecy, to please all sentient beings, to benefit and bring happiness to all sentient beings, to surely liberate, and to make offerings to this samadhi. Reporting (to the World Honored One): When will the Immaculate Light Goddess be able to be free from the female body? Please, Tathagata, give a prophecy. The World Honored One taught: Great Cloud Essence, do not look at when she will be able to be free from the female body. Reporting (to the World Honored One): Then what is she like? The World Honored One taught: She is not a woman. This Immaculate Light Goddess has been practicing the Bodhisattva path for countless eons. Because of taming sentient beings, she manifests a female body, so it should be regarded as a body of skillful means. The Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who abides in this samadhi, in order to constantly enter into all skillful means, makes aspirations with the power of the mind, manifesting as a woman at will.

The Bhagavan said: This Immaculate Light Goddess, seven hundred years after I have completely passed into nirvana by means of skillful means, in the southern direction, a land called the Dark Region will arise. In that great land, there is a river called Black Water Good, and on its southern bank, in a city called Determined Prosperity, she will be born into the lineage of a king named Blissful Conduct. Three generations after that king, a king named Glorious Increase will arise. That king's daughter, lovely and beloved in heart, generous and exceedingly beautiful, with a good form and possessing the perfect qualities of noble conduct, will be born with a nature of protection. At that time, at that moment, as much as that daughter grows, so much will her own royal palace retinue increase. The royal palace retinue will become wealthy and prosperous. Similarly, the land of the Dark Region will also become wealthy and prosperous at that time, and will be filled with many people. The harvests of all kinds of grains will also be exceedingly abundant. People will also speak truthfully. They will become free from disease, free from fear, and happy. Then, the daughter's father, King Glorious Increase, seeing that his own merit has made the city and land wealthy and prosperous, and that the people of the region are very well settled, and the grains are very abundant, will give his daughter a name that matches her qualities, calling her Bountiful Harvest of Grain. Then, gradually, King Glorious Increase's own merit will be exhausted, and he will face the time of death. Then, the cities, towns, and people of the region will gather together, because the young king has no power whatsoever.

Then, let this goddess and that young prince be made king, making excuses like "men are fools, women are fools," and in her own country, she herself governs the entire great kingdom in the form of a woman. She manifestly subdues those evil heretics, and transforms the entire land of Jambudvipa into a manifest sign of the Tathagata's stupa, and honors it, as a guru, as an attendant, as an offering. With great umbrellas made of all jewels, banners made of all jewels, victory banners made of all jewels, and sandalwood powder scented with all incense, incense and all flowers, drums, waist drums, pottery drums, lutes, flutes, and hundreds of cymbals, she makes offerings and circles the entire Jambudvipa. To those monks who possess discipline and merit, she gives Dharma robes, alms, bedding, medicine for the sick, and all necessities. She practices the ten perfections, and always maintains the five precepts, and to all impoverished and other enslaved sentient beings, whatever is meaningful to whom, she gives that to them, and gathers them with the ten perceptions of gathering. Gradually taming hundreds of thousands of sentient beings, and knowing that the roots of virtue of these sentient beings are fully matured, in order to cause the appearance of the incomparable precious Dharma of the sutras, such as the Great Cloud Heart Essence Sutra, spoken by all the Tathagatas, by whatever means, she makes an incomparable sound. And she places the containers in which the incomparable scriptures are written in all the places blessed by the Buddha.
