There grew soft grass, fragrant and pleasing, delightful to the touch. The four corners of the lion throne were neither too high nor too low, made of precious wood, two and a half krosa in length (approximately 3.2 kilometers), and two krosa in width (approximately 6.4 kilometers), surrounded on all four sides. The Bhagavan, seated upon the well-arranged lion throne, was exceedingly clear in wisdom, the wheel of Dharma was turned, the maras and adversaries were vanquished, unsoiled by worldly dharmas, neither fearful nor timid, fearless like a lion, clear and unpolluted like the ocean, exceedingly pure, deep and unfathomable like the great ocean, a source of jewels, towering like Mount Meru, radiant like the sun, cooling like the moon, raining down the Dharma like the great Naga, transcending all the world like the Great Brahma, possessing an immeasurable retinue of exceedingly tamed disciples. Indra, Brahma, and billions of hundreds of thousands of world-protectors gazed upon his face, respectfully sat with folded hands. In that assembly, there was radiance, harmony, and clarity. The Bhagavan, so radiant, harmonious, and clear, from the ushnisha on the crown of his head, a light called "All-Illuminating," with hundreds of thousands of light-wheels, arose. Having arisen, it illuminated all the realms of the world in all ten directions. Then it returned, circumambulating the Bhagavan three times, and entered through the mouth of the Bhagavan, without the mouth of the Bhagavan appearing to open or close. Just as the light of the sun and moon enters into the midst of all the expanse of the sky, yet the opening or closing of the expanse of the sky is not apparent, so too, when the light entered, the mouth of the Bhagavan did not appear to open or close. Just as when ghee, sesame oil, or water enters a pile of sand, it is not apparent, so too, when the light entered, no opening or closing was apparent. Then, from the east, from this Buddha-field to the world

After passing as many eons as the sands of the Ganges River, in that world called Lotus World, there is a Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksaṃbuddha, complete in knowledge and conduct, Sugata, Knower of the World, unsurpassed charioteer who tames beings, teacher of gods and humans, Buddha, Bhagavan, named Lotus Eye, who teaches the Dharma to the Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas, starting from the One Vehicle. In that Buddha-field, there are no Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, nor even the names of the Shravaka Vehicle or the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle. In that Buddha-field, there are no women except for those born miraculously, and there is no sound of dwelling in the womb, being born, or birth. All the sentient beings in that world are Bodhisattvas who are non-regressing from unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. In that world, there is no knowledge of eating, drinking, or the activity of food. All those Bodhisattvas are nourished by the joy of meditation, nourished by the joy of Samadhi, and nourished by the joy of Dharma. Except for the light of that Tathagata pervading that world and being without impurity, in that world, there is no knowledge of the light of the moon, sun, planets, and stars. That world is as flat as the palm of a hand, and in that world, there is no appearance of grass, trees, mounds, walls, or mountains, etc. In such a world, there dwells a Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Dispeller of All Obstructions, by merely hearing his name, all the obstructions of sentient beings will be exhausted. He, being touched and urged by that light, comes forth from his own abode and goes to where the Bhagavan Tathagata Lotus Eye is, and having arrived, bows his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, and sits on a lotus seat to one side. Other Bodhisattvas who are not him are also touched and urged by that light, and come forth from their respective abodes and go to the Bhagavan Tathagata Lotus Eye.

Then, having gone to that place, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and each sat down appropriately on the lotus's heart. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin, having risen from his seat, draped his upper garment over one shoulder, placed the kneecap of his right knee on the lotus's heart, and with his palms joined together, bowed towards the Blessed One, the Tathagata Padmaksha, and said this to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, this kind of excellent light, without impurity, completely pure, pleasing, and causing the body and mind to be exceedingly joyful, whose power is this?" After he said this, the Blessed One, the Tathagata Padmaksha, said this to the Bodhisattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin: "Son of good family, in the west, beyond as many worlds as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River from this Buddha-field, there is a world called 'Enduring'. There, there dwells one called Shakyamuni, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One, endowed with knowledge and conduct, Well-Gone, Knower of the World, Unsurpassed Trainer of Persons, Unsurpassed, Teacher of Gods and Humans, Buddha, Blessed One, by merely hearing whose name, sentient beings will become irreversible from the Unsurpassed, Perfectly Complete Enlightenment. He has emitted this excellent light, without impurity, completely pure, pleasing, and causing the body and mind to be exceedingly joyful." After he said this, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin said this to the Blessed One, the Tathagata Padmaksha: "Blessed One, since that is so, what is the cause and what is the condition by which sentient beings, merely by hearing the name of that Tathagata, will become irreversible from the Unsurpassed, Perfectly Complete Enlightenment?" After he said this, the Blessed One, the Tathagata Padmaksha, said this to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin: "Son of good family, that Tathagata, in the past, in Bodhi
