Being skilled in the dharmas, having obtained forbearance in the unarisen dharmas, the Blessed One also praises and extols and speaks well of him, venerable one, please come here! Oh, everyone, where is Manjushri Kumara, let's go there! He can dispel your regret. Then, the monk Immaculate Light, without eating that food, together with those monk friends, went to where Manjushri Kumara was, and having arrived, together with Manjushri Kumara, they engaged in various talks that would manifestly delight and truly rejoice, and recounted to Manjushri Kumara what had happened. After saying that, Manjushri Kumara said to the monk Immaculate Light: Monk, you should eat this food first, and after eating the food, report to the Blessed One, and act according to what the Blessed One has prophesied. Then, the monk Immaculate Light and those monks, after eating the food, together with Manjushri Kumara, went to where the Blessed One was, and having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and sat down on one side. Then, the monk Immaculate Light was ashamed and could not report to the Blessed One. Then, Manjushri Kumara rose from his seat, draped his upper robe over one shoulder, knelt on his right knee, and with his palms joined together in the direction of the Blessed One, reported to the Blessed One all that had happened. After reporting thus, the Blessed One said to the monk Immaculate Light: Monk, is it true that you did such a thing? He replied: Blessed One, it is true. The Blessed One said: Monk, did you previously think that I was engaging in lust? He replied: Blessed One, it was not. The Blessed One said: Monk, how did you engage in lust without the arising of a mind of desire? He replied: Blessed One, my mind of desire arose later. The Blessed One said: Monk, that mind...

Did you engage in sexual activity? Answer: No, Blessed One. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? Haven't I taught that when the mind is defiled by afflictions, beings become defiled by afflictions, and when the mind is purified, it becomes purified? Answer: Yes, Blessed One, that is so. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? When you are dreaming in your sleep, do you experience engaging in sexual activity when you are engaged in various discriminations? Answer: Yes, Blessed One, I do. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, wouldn't you say that the mind engaged in sexual activity? Answer: No, Blessed One, it is not like that. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, do you see any difference or distinction between the mind in a dream and the mind when not asleep? Answer: Blessed One, I have not seen any difference at all between the mind in a dream and the mind when not asleep. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? Haven't I taught that all phenomena are like dreams? Answer: Yes, Blessed One, that is so. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? Is that dream real? Answer: No, Blessed One. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? Aren't both the mind in a dream and the mind when not asleep nonexistent? Answer: Blessed One, they are nonexistent. Sugata, they are nonexistent. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? Where does that which is nonexistent exist? Answer: No, Blessed One. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? Does that which is nonexistent have birth? Answer: No, Blessed One. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think? Does that which is without birth become born, cease, become afflicted, or become purified? Answer: No, Blessed One. The Blessed One said: Bhikshu, what do you think?

Thus thinking. Will the unborn dharmas go to the hells of sentient beings? Or to the realm of animals? Or will they go to the world of Yama? They asked. Blessed One, since unbornness itself is also non-existent, how could there be any going to bad destinies? The Blessed One said: Bhikshus, if all dharmas are thus luminous, then childish ordinary beings contemplate on non-true dharmas. They contemplate on perversions. Because they contemplate on all dharmas such as deception and accumulation, sentient beings will go to the hells, the realm of animals, and the world of Yama. Furthermore, bhikshus, all dharmas are non-true, they are the characteristic of being well established and abiding closely. Bhikshus, all dharmas are compounded, that is, attachment, hatred, and delusion are also generated by those childish ordinary beings. Bhikshus, all dharmas are conceptualized, they arise from perversion. Bhikshus, all dharmas are non-existent, they are of the nature of a mirage. Bhikshus, all dharmas are empty, like the sky. Bhikshus, all dharmas are devoid of substance, therefore they are without substance. Bhikshus, all dharmas are as deep as the sky, therefore they are deep. Bhikshus, all dharmas are vast because no substance is perceived. Bhikshus, all dharmas are non-abiding because they are extremely secluded. Bhikshus, all dharmas are unsupportive because all objects are accumulative. Bhikshus, all dharmas are rootless because they are extremely accumulative. Bhikshus, all dharmas are unwrapped because no afflictions are perceived. Bhikshus, all dharmas are without suffering because they are unborn by nature. Bhikshus, all dharmas are unobstructed because they are secluded. Bhikshus, all dharmas are without hatred because they do not arise by nature. Bhikshus, all dharmas are without delusion because they are luminous by nature. Bhikshus, all dharmas are like cataracts, therefore they are without maturation. Bhikshus, all dharmas are like illusions because they appear wrongly.
