That can be touched, and can completely pacify all sentient beings tormented by afflictions. That light can completely penetrate, and can generate joy in the body and mind of sentient beings. That body itself can perform the deeds of the Buddha for sentient beings. This is the activity of the body of a Bodhisattva, preceded by wisdom. Wisdom Ocean, what is the speech activity of a Bodhisattva that is preceded by wisdom? Wisdom Ocean, this Bodhisattva can abandon all faults of erroneous speech, thereby generating the activity of speech. Wisdom Ocean, what are those faults of erroneous speech? Wisdom Ocean, the Bodhisattva can be free from and completely abandon sixty-four faults of erroneous speech, thereby generating the activity of speech. What are the sixty-four? Wisdom Ocean, this Bodhisattva does not have harsh speech, does not have confused speech, does not have a sound like a tile, does not have a sound like a joint, the sound is not too loud, the sound is not too small, the sound is not too strong, there is no vulgar speech, there is no vague speech, there is no chattering speech, there is no stammering speech, there is no speech like a mouth facing down, there is no decaying speech, there is no speech that needs to be picked on, there is no discouraged speech, there is no vague speech, there is no speech like a child, there is no ambiguous speech, there is no speech that makes people burn, there is no argumentative speech, there is no speech that does not know the times, there is no speech that does not know the limits, there is no speech that is stained by desire, there is no speech that is angered by hatred, there is no speech that is blinded and speechless by ignorance, there is no inferior speech, there is no discordant and contemptuous speech, there is no divisive speech, there is no speech mixed with deception, there is no speech filled with arrogance, there is no contemptuous speech, there is no biased speech, there is no unpleasant and disgusting speech, there is no speech that speaks of nothing, there is no confusing and scolding speech, there is no untrue speech, there is no immediately lying speech

There are no vulgar words. There are no divisive words. There are no harsh words. There are no joking words. There are no words that separate friends. There are no overly sharp words. There are no overly soft words. There are no common words. There are no unguarded words. There are no words spoken out of season. There are no words that ignite harmful thoughts. There are no words of fighting, arguing, or contending. There are no words measured by gain. There are no changing words. There are no unstable words. There are no nonsensical words. There are no words like a dance performance. There are no words that contradict the Dharma. There are no words that reveal secrets. There are no words that harm sentient beings. There are no words that praise oneself. There are no words that slander others. There are no words of ridicule and contempt. There are no words that contradict the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. There are no words that defame the noble ones. There are no unrecognizable words. The words that are free from all faults of erroneous speech are the sixty-four types of speech. The speech activity of the Bodhisattva Ocean of Wisdom is free from those sixty-four faults of erroneous speech and is completely pure. That speech is prophetic, it is correct prophecy, it is the only prophecy, it is the prophecy that distinctly states the truth, it follows the truth, it enters into the language of all sentient beings, it prophesies the thoughts of all sentient beings, it satisfies all sentient beings, it stimulates the faculties of all sentient beings, it completely pacifies all afflictions, it is blessed by the Buddha, it does not contradict the Dharma, it is a cause of merit that is complete and extremely clear, it is like the moon, without stain and pleasant to hear, it does not universally generate desire, it speaks of virtues after restraint, it does not generate hatred, it is profound and difficult to fathom, it does not universally generate ignorance, it makes the ten directions understandable and fills them extensively, it is not without meaning, it follows all, and it manifests as the nature of non-fabrication.
