Therefore, one should don the armor of the equality of all dharmas. Why is that? Because obtaining the establishment of the ocean of wisdom is also like that. In that ocean of wisdom, consciousness is the seed of the conditioned. Non-consciousness is the seed of the unconditioned, this samadhi is the seed of non-consciousness. This samadhi is not to be known by eye consciousness. Not by the consciousness of ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. This samadhi is not to be realized by consciousness. Not by feeling, this samadhi is the nature of feeling and non-consciousness. Because of realizing that all dharmas are equal, therefore it is called perfect enlightenment. Ocean of Wisdom, I have not attained perfect enlightenment by the completely defiled otherness, nor have I attained perfect enlightenment by the completely purified otherness. Why is that? Because the nature of complete defilement is the very nature of complete purification, that is, the nature of self-nature purity. What is the nature of self-nature purity? That is no-nature. What is no-nature? That is no-sign. What is no-sign? In that there is no any separate consciousness. Ocean of Wisdom, all dharmas are non-consciousness and not to be known. What dharma is non-consciousness and not to be known? In that all letters do not arise at all. In what do all letters not arise at all? That is as it is. What is as it is? As it was before, so it is afterwards, and so it is in the middle. Therefore, all dharmas are said to be empty in the three times. Why is it called emptiness? Because it is not that what has not been done will become something to be done, not something to be done, nor something to be done, therefore it is called emptiness. What is not to be done? That is, there is no manifest action, since it is not done in this way, there is no dharma that has been done. Therefore, it is not to be done.

It should be known. What is non-action? It is non-action with the body, non-action with speech, and non-action with mind. This is called non-action. Whatever is non-action is unconditioned, therefore there is no birth, no destruction, no abiding. Whatever has no birth, no destruction, no abiding, is without a place to abide. What has no place to abide? For all actions, there is no place to abide, therefore it is called having no place to abide. Therefore, consciousness does not abide in form, nor does it abide in feeling, nor does it abide in perception, nor does it abide in mental formations, nor does consciousness abide in consciousness. Whatever does not abide in consciousness is endowed with wisdom. Whoever is endowed with wisdom does not become conceited with wisdom. Whoever is not conceited does not manifest conceit. Whoever does not manifest conceit does not dispute. Whoever does not dispute does not completely burn. Whoever does not completely burn is not completely tormented. Whoever is not completely tormented does not burn excessively. Whoever does not burn excessively is peaceful. Whatever is peaceful is extremely peaceful. Whatever is extremely peaceful is thoroughly peaceful. Whatever is thoroughly peaceful is called the capable one, called the teacher. Wisdom like the ocean, these dharmas are so profound, so difficult to see, so difficult to realize. Whoever hears these dharmas and generates faith is liberated from all perversions and afflictions close to them, and from all attachments and bonds. These are the holders of the treasury of the Dharma of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present. They are great boatmen, showing limitless paths to all sentient beings. They are the king of physicians, liberating beings from the disease of formless afflictions. They offer the Thus-Gone One with supreme offerings, and they will not be long in obtaining the extremely white and immaculate fruit.

They will obtain this samadhi. Those are the ones who have determined in this Mahayana. Those are the ones who have properly assembled the great ship of Dharma. Those are the ones who will liberate immeasurable sentient beings from the great river of samsara. Those are also the ones who are not spoken of in the realm of Mara. Those holy beings are the ones who have vanquished Mara and opponents. The chapter on teaching Samadhi, the third chapter is complete. Third, the chapter on teaching Samadhi.
