Third, The Chapter on Explaining Samadhi. Third, The Chapter on Explaining Samadhi. Then, the Blessed One said to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Blo gros rgya mtsho: Blo gros rgya mtsho, when does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva become pure and completely pure? Their intention is not artificial, and even if all sentient beings harm them, they have no hatred. They become extremely certain wisdom, and when they obtain unquestionable wisdom, they dwell in the root place of the extremely white and immaculate hand seal samadhi. What is the root place of this samadhi? It is the great compassion without hatred towards all sentient beings. Even if they are revered by all sentient beings, they do not become arrogant. Even if they are not revered by all sentient beings, they do not become humble. The absence of arrogance and the absence of humility arise from certainty of knowledge, not from certainty of pride. The absence of arrogance and the absence of humility are in accordance with the Dharma, not in accordance with ignorance. Because all dharmas arise from certainty of knowledge, they possess bodily actions preceded by wisdom, possess speech actions preceded by wisdom, and possess mental actions preceded by wisdom. Whatever actions of body, speech, or mind they perform, all of them are preceded by wisdom and follow wisdom. What is the bodily action of a Bodhisattva that is preceded by wisdom? It is that by showing the actions of form, they cause sentient beings to be matured and subdued. In whatever conduct sentient beings are subdued, their conduct is spontaneously accomplished and constantly abides without any discrimination. Whatever the faults of the body, attachment to the body, changes of the body, adornments of the body, disturbances of the body, and thorough knowledge of the body are, that Bodhisattva has truly vanquished them, like cutting off the head of a palm tree, cutting them off from the root, becoming a nature of not being born in the future. They are extremely pure in body,

Well adorned with the characteristics of the body, with soft and supple hands and feet, a body that is extremely distinct with harmonious causes of merit, with no incomplete faculties, and all limbs and minor limbs are completely perfect, yet without being fat or arrogant with the physical form, not possessing the manner of a large body. That one closely holds the Dharma and bows down to even those inferior beings who are incomplete in form. Utterly bows down. That one enters into knowing the equality of the body's nature of all beings through the body's nature of oneself. That one, knowing the body's nature in the body, is a Dharma body and not a mundane body. What is the Dharma nature of the body? It is eating the food of meditation, not eating mundane food, but eating for the sake of conforming to the world and for the sake of loving beings. It is not because the body is weak. That one, having become a Dharma body, lives by the Dharma, not by mundane means. What is living by the Dharma? It is not doing what is not to be done even for the sake of life, and not transgressing the conduct of the noble ones. What is the conduct of the noble ones? It is like this: without attachment, without hatred, without ignorance, free from all afflictions, guarding in every way as taught in the precepts, not concealing and abiding, this is called the conduct of the noble ones. The Bodhisattva, with wisdom as the forerunner, possesses the actions of the body and is endowed with all the powers of clairvoyance and miraculous abilities. That one spontaneously appears in all Buddhafields, and in those Buddhafields, the forms, signs, splendor, and ornaments of those beings, the Bodhisattva also spontaneously accomplishes and abides in such a way without any conceptualization. That one possesses a body adorned with light, and when that body emits light, it illuminates countless immeasurable Buddhafields. That light creates happiness, making all beings in hells and bad realms happy. That light is happiness.
