Those ordinary people perceive happiness due to various unreal causes, or they perceive it as suffering, or they understand it as neither happiness nor suffering. Manjushri, the nature of all feelings is like illusion, uncreated, unborn, and constantly unarisen. Manjushri, in this way, feeling is Bodhi, this is the Dharani gate for entering the path of feeling. Manjushri, desire is Bodhi, this is the Dharani gate. Asked, "World Honored One, how is desire Bodhi?" Hasn't the World Honored One said that desire is complete affliction? The World Honored One said: Manjushri, what do you think? Is the desire of a man without a son for a son inside? Or is it outside? Or is it in all directions and corners? Manjushri replied: World Honored One, since that son has not even been born, how can there be the desire for a son? The World Honored One said: Manjushri, when that person unites and gives birth to a son, and the time of arising desire exists, if that moment exists, Manjushri, what do you think? Does that person's desire for a son come from the east? Or does it come from the south? Or does it come from the west? Or does it come from the north? Or does it come from the direction below? Or does it come from the direction above? Or is it inside? Or is it outside? Or does it exist without duality? Manjushri replied: World Honored One, desire is not visible in the east, nor is it visible in the south, nor is it visible in the west, nor is it visible in the north, nor is it visible above, nor is it visible below, nor is it visible inside, nor is it visible outside, nor is it visible as existing without duality. The World Honored One said: Manjushri, what do you think? Who made that desire? Or was it instructed to be made by someone? Manjushri replied: World Honored One, desire is unmade, there is no maker of desire. World Honored One, ordinary people with inverted minds cling to unreal things. The World Honored One said: Manjushri, what do you think? Does that unreal thing exist? Replied: World Honored One, that does not exist. The Thus Come One is not

Yes. The Buddha said: Manjushri, does that which is non-existent have complete defilement or complete purification? He replied: Bhagavan, it is not so. The Buddha said: Manjushri, what dharma cannot be found in the east, nor in the south, nor in the west, nor in the north, nor within, nor without, nor can it be determined between the two, that will not become completely defiled, nor will it become completely purified. Manjushri, that is the dharani gate that enters like craving. Manjushri, taking is bodhi, this is the dharani gate. He replied: Bhagavan, how is taking bodhi? Bhagavan, didn't you say that taking is bondage? The Bhagavan said: Manjushri, what do you think? Do ordinary people produce anything? He replied: Bhagavan, they do produce, they produce form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and these five qualities of desire. The Buddha said: Manjushri, what do you think? Does form produce form? He replied: It is not so. The Bhagavan said: Does feeling produce feeling? Does perception produce perception? Do formations produce formations? Does consciousness produce consciousness? He replied: Bhagavan, it is not so. The Bhagavan said: Manjushri, what do you think? Is there any dharma that produces any dharma? He replied: Bhagavan, there is not. The Bhagavan said: Manjushri, does any dharma have the function of binding any dharma? He replied: Bhagavan, it is not so. The Buddha said: Manjushri, thus all dharmas have no birth, no cessation, no obscuration, these do not produce each other, do not determine each other, are unspeakable, because they are material, so they cannot be expressed in words. Manjushri, therefore, taking is bodhi, that is the dharani gate that enters like taking. Manjushri, existence is bodhi, this is the dharani gate. He replied: Bhagavan, how is existence bodhi? Bhagavan

To prevent existence, didn't the Blessed One teach the Dharma to the Shravakas? The Blessed One said: Manjushri, the existence I speak of is without substance, therefore it is called existence. Manjushri, whoever sees all dharmas as without substance does not generate anything, nor does he stop anything. Having seen all dharmas as the nature of the sky, he neither clings to nor abandons the Buddhadharmas. Manjushri, therefore, existence is Bodhi, which is the door of the Dharani that enters into suchness of existence. Manjushri, birth is Bodhi, this is the door of Dharani. They asked: Blessed One, how is birth Bodhi? Didn't the Blessed One teach the Dharma in order to truly transform from birth? The Blessed One said: Manjushri, if a Bodhisattva completely seeks birth, he will see that there is no birth, no transference, no arising. Manjushri, therefore, birth is Bodhi, which is the door of the Dharani that enters into suchness of birth. Manjushri, entering the door of the Vajra Essence Dharani, through which door of entry does a Bodhisattva quickly obtain fearlessness, and fearlessness becomes sharp, fearlessness becomes profound, fearlessness is without attachment, and fearlessness becomes without obstruction? Then, Manjushri, the youth, said to the Blessed One: Whose realm is this for Bodhisattvas? The Blessed One said: Manjushri, this is for those who have not entered Bodhi, and those who have not generated the mind of Bodhi, and those who do not cling to the Buddhadharmas, and those who do not wish to be liberated from desire, hatred, and ignorance, and those who do not wish to be liberated from Samsara, and those who do not wish to liberate sentient beings, and those Bodhisattvas who do not wish to comprehend the Buddhadharmas. After he said this, Manjushri, the youth, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, any son or daughter of good family who holds this Dharani, remembers and recites it, fully comprehends it, and also for others
