The excellent Dharma will also remain as such. Any son or daughter of good family who hears the names of the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the King of Radiance Exceeding All Splendor, and the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the King of Jewels Arranged, Whose Qualities Abide Perfectly, will never turn back from unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Any woman, the essence of lotus splendor, who hears the names of the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the King of Golden Light Lion's Play, who has passed into complete nirvana, and the future one, will not be transformed into a female form. They will destroy the cycle of forty billion kalpas. They will never turn back from unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. They will never be separated from seeing the Buddha, hearing the Dharma, and serving and honoring the Sangha. In future lives, they will also attain ordination. They will remember their past lives and attain unobstructed eloquence. They will also attain dharanis. Then, from within that assembly, ninety-six billion beings of gods, humans, and creatures spoke with one voice, saying: To those who have not yet come, and to those who now abide, live, and dwell, and to those Tathagatas who have passed into complete nirvana in the ten directions, we prostrate. Whatever their names may be, we also rejoice in them. They also spoke these words: Blessed One, may all of us assembled together generate the mind for unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Around, in the ten directions, countless and immeasurable Bhagavats manifested such miraculous powers, that is, seeing them prophesying the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Having seen, they uttered these words: "O Bhagavat, these two Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas are well-received by the Buddhas, the Bhagavats. Thus, it is wonderful that these two noble beings are prophesied by so many Buddhas, the Bhagavats!" Then, the Bodhisattva Padmavyūha-garbha said this to the Bhagavat: "O Bhagavat, how much merit will increase for any son or daughter of good family who holds, bears, recites, comprehends this profound Sutra spoken by the Tathagata, and extensively and truthfully teaches it to others?" The Bhagavat said: "Son of good family, what is the use of this question you ask the Tathagata? Why is that? Son of good family, those beings who are devoted to inferior things will not believe what the Tathagata has spoken. It is not like that. If all those sentient beings were held on the head, shoulders, or hands for countless and endless kalpas, and were given clothes and food for as long as they lived, and were served with all the means of happiness, would the person, Padmapāla-garbha, who reveres them, accumulate more merit than that person? He replied: Even if one were to extend a mere glance of loving-kindness to a single sentient being, that alone would generate much merit. What need is there to mention caring for all sentient beings for countless and endless kalpas and serving them with all the means of happiness? The Blessed One said: Padmapāla-garbha, you should believe in it! You should understand it! Whichever son or daughter of good family, who abides in the mind of enlightenment, takes up, holds, recites, fully comprehends, and extensively and correctly teaches others such a sutra spoken by the Tathagata, if they are interested in faith and have great devotion, will generate much more merit than that person. Then, the Bodhisattva Padmapāla-garbha said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, even after the Tathagata has passed into complete nirvana, I will take up, hold, retain, recite, fully comprehend, and extensively and correctly teach others such a sutra spoken by the Tathagata. Then, after the Bodhisattva Padmapāla-garbha spoke those words, ninety-six kotis of Bodhisattvas spoke in one voice, saying: Blessed One, we too will take up, hold, retain, recite, fully comprehend, and extensively and correctly teach others such a sutra. Then, the Blessed One said to the Bodhisattva Padmapāla-garbha: Padmapāla-garbha, as soon as a woman hears this Dharma category, she will be transformed from the nature of a woman, except for two reasons, namely jealousy and stinginess.
