The four empowerments of Khading are as follows: the great glorious empowerment of Khading, the great body, the great perfection, and the empowerment of Khading obtaining great magic, and the retinue of hundreds of thousands of kotis of Khading, are also a means. The son of the holy body, King Ajatasatru of Magadha, is also a means. At that time, the Blessed One was completely surrounded by those four retinues, facing them, respecting them, honoring them, depicting them, making offerings to them, remembering them, and praying to them. The Dharma category called "Definitely Showing the Great," the Sutra Pitaka, which is extremely vast and profound, was taught to the Bodhisattvas. The Buddhas completely embraced it, and wishing to explain it, he sat in the lotus position on that very Dharma seat, entered the Samadhi called "The Place of Boundless Certainty," and remained with his body unmoving and his mind unmoving. As soon as the Blessed One entered Samadhi, a great rain of flowers of the gods, Mandarava, great Mandarava, Manjushaka, and great Manjushaka, fell upon the Blessed One and those four retinues. The Buddha-field, complete with everything, also shook in six ways: it moved, it moved completely and extremely; it shook, it shook completely and extremely; it trembled, it trembled completely and extremely. At that time, the monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen, gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, asuras, khading, kinnaras, mahoragas, humans, non-humans, and small kings, powerful wheel-turning kings, and wheel-turning kings of the four continents, who had gathered there in that assembly, all gazed at the Blessed One and remained there, marveling, finding it wondrous, and becoming extremely joyful. Then, at that time, a ray of light emanated from the urna hair between the Blessed One's eyebrows, and that light went to eighty thousand kotis of Buddha-fields in the east, and all those Buddha-fields, from the great hell of Avici upwards to the peak of existence downwards, were filled with light.

Its light appeared to be extremely pervasive. All the sentient beings in those Buddha-fields, all of them, appeared completely. All the Buddhas, Bhagavat, who dwell and live in those Buddha-fields, also appeared. All the Dharma that those Buddhas, Bhagavat, taught, was also completely heard. In those Buddha-fields, monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen, yogis, and yoginis, whether they have attained the fruit or have not attained the fruit, all of them also appeared. In those Buddha-fields, all the Bodhisattvas, Mahasattvas, who listen, focus, and believe in various ways, who are skilled in the means of various causes, and who practice the conduct of Bodhisattvas, also appeared. In those Buddha-fields, all the Buddhas, Bhagavat, who pass into complete Nirvana, also appeared. In those Buddha-fields, all the stupas of relics made of precious jewels of the Buddhas, Bhagavat, who have passed into complete Nirvana, also appeared. Then, the Bodhisattva, Mahasattva Maitreya, thought to himself: Alas, what could be the cause of this great display of miracles shown by the Tathagata? Why did the Bhagavat show such a great display of miracles? The Bhagavat also remained in that Samadhi, and such inconceivable, rare, and wonderful great miraculous transformations also appeared. To whom should I ask the meaning of this? Who can answer this meaning? He also thought: This Manjushri, who has become a youth, has done special deeds for the Buddhas of the past, accumulated roots of virtue, and served and honored many Buddhas. This Manjushri, who has become a youth, has also seen such displays of the past Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, and has also experienced the discussions of the great Dharma feast in the past. Therefore, I should ask Manjushri.
