In the past, as many eons as there are sands in the Ganges River, in this Buddha-field, there arose a great eon called "Holding Eon." In that great eon, in this Buddha-field of the four continents, there arose a Wheel-Turning King of the four continents named "Rim of the Wheel." That Rim of the Wheel had a Brahmin guide named "Ocean of Dust." His son was born with the thirty-two marks of a great being, his body adorned with the eighty minor marks, possessing the marks of a hundred merits, having a light of one fathom, and like a Nyagrodha tree, his height and breadth were equal, and one could never tire of looking at him. As soon as he was born, a hundred thousand gods made offerings to him, and he was named "Essence of the Ocean." At another time, he would certainly renounce, shave his hair and beard, don the saffron robes, and manifest perfect enlightenment in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, becoming the Tathagata Jewel Essence. That Bhagavan turned the wheel of Dharma, and countless billions of beings were established in the fruits of heaven and liberation. At another time, countless billions of Shravakas surrounded and followed him, wandering through villages, cities, towns, regions, countries, and royal palaces. Gradually, they came to another city where that Wheel-Turning King resided. There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly and Completely Enlightened Buddha Jewel Essence, was dwelling in a pleasure garden called Jambudvipa Grove, not far from the city, together with countless billions of Shravakas. King Rim of the Wheel heard that the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly and Completely Enlightened Buddha Jewel Essence had come to his country and was dwelling in the Jambudvipa Grove, together with countless billions of Shravakas, and he thought to himself: I should go and pay homage to that Tathagata, and treat him with respect, honoring him as my teacher.

It should be painted, it should be offered, I think so. Then, King Wheel-Rim, with the great wealth of the king and the great power of the king, surrounded and guarded in front by countless billions of beings, set out from the city and went to the pleasure garden called Jambudvipa Grove, riding as far as riding could go, and then entered the Joyful Garden on foot, and went to the place called Tathagata Jewel Essence, prostrated with his head at the feet of the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, Jewel Essence, and circumambulated three times, and sat down on one side. After sitting down on one side, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, Jewel Essence, taught the Dharma to King Wheel-Rim, causing him to truly receive it, truly praise it, and truly rejoice. He taught the Dharma in many ways, causing him to truly receive it, truly praise it, and truly rejoice, and then he became silent. Third fascicle. Then, King Wheel-Rim rose from his seat, bared one shoulder of his upper garment, and towards the place where the Tathagata Jewel Essence was, he bowed with folded palms, touched his two knees to the ground, and said to the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, Jewel Essence: "O Blessed One, I wish to attend upon the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks with robes, food, bedding, cushions, medicine for the sick, and utensils for these three months. May the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks grant me permission." The Tathagata Jewel Essence, son of good family, granted permission to King Wheel-Rim without saying a word. Then, King Wheel-Rim, knowing that the Tathagata Jewel Essence had granted permission without saying a word, prostrated with his head at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated three times, and departed from the presence of the Blessed One.

Om. Then, King Rim of the Wheel summoned the kings of the realms, the ministers, those belonging to the great ones, the minor ministers, the townspeople, the people of the regions, and those who lived by agriculture, and said: "Leaders, know this! I must invite the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, the essence of precious jewels, together with the Sangha of monks, for these three months with all necessities. I will attend to, serve, honor, and joyfully attend to him, and I will also respectfully offer all my consorts and retinues to the Bhagavan and the Sangha of monks. I exhort you to also respectfully offer to the Bhagavan and the Sangha of monks all those whom you attend to, serve, honor, and joyfully attend to, and all your wives and retinues." And they offered them accordingly. The wealthy householder also made all the beautiful gardens out of Jambudvipa river gold, and in that garden, he built a seven-jeweled tiered mansion for the Bhagavan. In the four directions around that mansion, he also erected seven-jeweled gates. All the gardens were adorned with seven-jeweled trees. Those trees were also well adorned with various cloths, silks, umbrellas, strings of pearls, ornaments, precious ornaments, and various incenses. Those trees were also adorned with precious flowers and all kinds of fruits. All those gardens were also adorned with various kinds of jewels, and various flowers were scattered, and cushions of silk, brocade, fine cloth, and various garments were arranged. The precious wheel also hovered in the sky above the outside of the tiered mansion, about the height of a person, and descended before the Bhagavan, blazing with light. The precious elephant, ashen white in color, with well-formed seven limbs.
