Possessing the power to act, possessing the power to subdue all external adversaries with the Dharma, and possessing the power to thoroughly tame all afflictions. In the lotus world, those Bodhisattva Mahasattvas who have been born or will be born have made outstanding contributions to countless Buddhas and have continuously accumulated roots of virtue. In the Buddha's pure land, the lotus world, those Bodhisattvas who have been born or will be born are like the gods of the Brahma realm who do not have food to eat with their mouths; they do not possess the food of meditation, the food of Dharma, and the food of Gandharvas. There, there is absolutely no name of non-virtue. There, there is absolutely no name of woman, nor is there any designation. There, there is absolutely no sound of suffering, and there is absolutely no sound of good or non-good. Similarly, there is no sound of affliction, nor is there any grasping. There, there is no darkness, nor is there any impurity. There is no mental fatigue, nor is there any physical fatigue. There is no mention of hell beings, the animal realm, or the world of Yama. Nor is there any designation of evil realms. There are no thorns, dense forests, stones, or gravel. There is no fire, no sun and moon, and no shapes of stars. There is no great ocean, no Mount Sumeru, no surrounding mountains, no intervals between worlds, and no black mountains. There are no unclean stones, and no mountains of dust. There is no sound of clouds and rain, and no sound of wind. There is absolutely no sound of evil realms, and there is absolutely no sound of leisurelessness. Furthermore, the lotus world is always illuminated by the vast light of the Buddha's light, the Bodhisattva's light, the light of merit, and the light of jewels. There, birds called "birds with fruits" proclaim the roots, powers, and limbs of enlightenment with their own soft and pleasing sounds.

When will the Tathagata Lotus Supreme, who is not far from attaining complete enlightenment and Buddhahood, live, abide, and teach the Dharma for how long? After complete extinction, how long will the true Dharma remain? In the Buddha-field of the Lotus World, how long will those Bodhisattvas who have been born and will be born remain? Are these Bodhisattvas inseparable from seeing the Buddha, hearing the Dharma, and serving the Sangha? Or is it not so? What was the Lotus World called before? How long after the sun of the Victorious One sets there, will the Tathagata Lotus Supreme attain complete enlightenment and Buddhahood? What is the reason why some can see the Buddha's miracles performed by the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, in other Buddha-fields in the ten directions, while others cannot see them? The Blessed One said: Son of good family, for example, Mount Sumeru, the king of mountains, is 168,000 yojanas high and 84,000 yojanas wide. If a man with diligence and strength comes and shrinks Mount Sumeru to the size of a mustard seed by the power of Samadhi. Those that have become the size of mustard seeds have completely exceeded the count, so no one can count those mustard seed-sized ones except for the wisdom of omniscience. As many mustard seed-sized ones as there are, there are as many measures of the four continents. 菩萨们遍满其中。 善男子，如来、应供、正等觉、莲花胜者的寿命有三十中劫，住世、生存并说法。 善男子，如来、应供、正等觉、莲花胜者圆寂后，正法也能住世十中劫。 在莲花世界中，凡是已经出生和将要出生的菩萨摩诃萨，他们的寿命将有四十中劫。 善男子，莲花世界以前名为旃檀，它不像现在的莲花世界一样完全清净，也不像现在这样充满清净的众生。 善男子，在旃檀世界中，有如来、应供、正等觉，名为月亮胜者，具足明行足，乃至佛、世尊的名号，他也曾用三十中劫的时间来宣说佛法。 在他圆寂的时候，一些菩萨因为愿力的关系，前往其他的佛土。 那些留在当地的菩萨们心想：如来、应供、正等觉、月亮胜者将在今天午夜圆寂。 世尊圆寂后，正法还能住世十中劫，正法衰败后，谁将证得无上正等菩提呢？ 又在那个时候，名为虚空印的菩萨摩诃萨，由于过去的愿力，受到了如来、应供、正等觉、月亮胜者的授记。 善男子，我圆寂后，正法还能住世十中劫，午夜时分，我的正法衰

Noble son, even after the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha, Lotus Supreme has passed into complete nirvana, the sacred Dharma will remain for ten intermediate kalpas. In the Lotus world, the lifespan of those Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas who have been born and will be born will be forty intermediate kalpas. Noble son, that Lotus world was formerly called Sandalwood. It was not as completely pure as the current Lotus world, nor was it as filled with pure beings as it is now. Noble son, in the Sandalwood world, there was a Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha named Moon Supreme, who possessed knowledge and conduct, and was endowed with the title of Buddha, Bhagavan. He also taught the Dharma for thirty intermediate kalpas. At the time of his complete nirvana, some Bodhisattvas, due to the power of their vows, went to other Buddha-fields.
