Remaining in many places, constantly purifying the mind from obstacles, obscurations, and distractions, for this, the individual self-nature within, the individual self-awareness, thus, seven aspects of suchness, give rise to seven kinds of wisdom that individually realize them, that is its path of seeing. By obtaining it, the Bodhisattva enters into a truly faultless state. He is born into the lineage of the Tathagata. He obtains the first ground and also experiences the benefits of that ground. Having previously attained calm abiding and insight, he obtains the two kinds of objects: the image with conceptualization and the image without conceptualization. Thus, by obtaining the path of seeing, one obtains the object of the limit of things. He then enters the path of meditation in the higher and higher stages, and when he contemplates those three objects, it is like this: for example, just as a very small child produces a very large child, so too, in the manner of a child producing a child, by eliminating the internal signs, he eliminates all the signs that are in accordance with the afflicted aspects. When the signs are eliminated, the bad migrations are also eliminated. By completely destroying all signs and bad migrations, gradually purifying the mind like gold in the higher and higher grounds, until the unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment, manifestly awakening and also obtaining the object of accomplishing all needs. Maitreya Bodhisattva, if he practices calm abiding and insight in this way, will manifestly awaken to unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. How does a Bodhisattva practice? It is the manifest accomplishment of the great power of the Bodhisattva. Maitreya Bodhisattva, being skilled in the six places, is the manifest accomplishment of the great power of the Bodhisattva: being skilled in the arising of the mind, being skilled in the abiding of the mind, being skilled in the arousing of the mind, being skilled in the increasing of the mind, being skilled in the decreasing of the mind, and being skilled in the means. How is one skilled in the arising of the mind? If one knows the sixteen ways of the arising of the mind, then one is skilled in the arising of the mind.

Thus, one is skilled in the nature of purity. Here, there are sixteen aspects of the arising of mind, namely, the stable and capable consciousness, as follows: the consciousness of taking. The consciousness with various aspects of objects, as follows: the consciousness of the discriminating mind, simultaneously grasping external and internal objects such as form, simultaneously entering into many samadhis in an instant, a moment, and a short while, seeing many Buddha-fields, seeing many Tathagatas, only the consciousness of the discriminating mind. The consciousness with small aspects of objects, as follows: associated with desire. The consciousness with aspects of objects transformed into vastness, as follows: associated with form. The consciousness with immeasurable aspects of objects, as follows: associated with the sphere of infinite space and infinite consciousness. The consciousness with subtle aspects of objects, as follows: associated with the sphere of nothingness. The consciousness with the ultimate aspects of objects, as follows: associated with the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. The consciousness without aspects, as follows: focused on transcendence and cessation. Associated with suffering, as follows: sentient beings in hell. Associated with the feeling of reception, as follows: those who act in the desire realm. Associated with joy, as follows: the first and second dhyanas. Associated with bliss, as follows: the third dhyana. Associated with neither suffering nor bliss, as follows: between the fourth dhyana and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. Associated with afflictions, as follows: associated with afflictions and near afflictions. Associated with virtue, as follows: associated with faith and so on. Associated with the indeterminate, as follows: not associated with either of the two. How is one skilled in abiding? If one thoroughly understands the suchness of consciousness as it is. How is one skilled in arising?
