Having arrived there, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One and sat down on one side. Then, the Blessed One, realizing that the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas had gathered, manifested such a miraculous display that when residing in the great city of Rajagriha, in the Light Garden of Kalandaka, all the monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen who resided there, in order to behold the Blessed One, pay homage to the Blessed One, and serve the Blessed One, went to the Light Garden of Kalandaka, to where the Blessed One was, bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat down on one side. Such a miraculous display was manifested. At that time, the Venerable Mahakashyapa was dwelling on Mount Malakuta, in the Indra Rock Cave, together with five hundred monks, all of whom were forest dwellers, alms-goers, rag-wearers, wearers of the three robes, patch-robe wearers, grass-mat wearers, tree-dwellers, those of few desires, content, delighting in solitude, and wearing tattered robes. Then, the Blessed One, by manifesting such a miraculous display, caused the Venerable Mahakashyapa, together with those five hundred monks, to vanish from the Indra Rock Cave on Mount Malakuta and dwell in the Light Garden of Kalandaka in Rajagriha. Such a miraculous display was manifested. The Blessed One saw the Venerable Mahakashyapa coming from afar,

Monks, if the three robes of the monk Kashyapa (འོད་སྲུང་) are such that even the gods do not want to speak with him or converse with him, what need is there to mention humans? Then, the Blessed One, seeing the venerable Maha-Kashyapa coming from afar, said: Kashyapa, come here, Kashyapa, you have come well! Alas, the venerable Kashyapa thought thus: For the sake of coming here, it has been planned for a long time. Kashyapa, sit on half of this seat! As soon as the Blessed One gave half of the seat to the venerable Kashyapa, the Blessed One arose from that seat, and this three-thousand great thousand world trembled, trembled greatly, trembled completely greatly, shook, shook greatly, shook completely greatly, swayed, swayed greatly, swayed completely greatly, and a great light also appeared in the world. This three-thousand great thousand world is like this, for example, when a bronze vessel of the Magadha country is struck with an iron hammer, it makes a buzzing sound, similarly, as soon as half of the seat was given to the venerable Maha-Kashyapa, the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One arose from the seat, and then immediately, this three-thousand great thousand world emitted a great sound. Then, The venerable Maha-Kashyapa draped his Dharma robe over one shoulder, placed his right knee on the ground, and with his palms joined together, bowed towards the direction where the Blessed One was, went to the Blessed One, touched the Blessed One's feet with his head, and said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, you are my teacher, and I am a Hearer, therefore the Dharma robe, bowl, cushion, or other enjoyments of the Blessed One, the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, are of no use for the Hearers to enjoy. Why is that? Blessed One, those are the objects of offering for the world including gods, humans, and non-gods, Blessed One, the silk handkerchiefs of Shana that were taken from the Blessed One

Moreover, Blessed One, because they have become stupas, I have not used them. Blessed One, I do not recall ever being disturbed by thoughts of desire, or by thoughts of malice, or by thoughts of harm, or being tormented by the complete torment of lust, or by the complete torment of hatred, or by the complete torment of delusion. Blessed One, in short, as a learner, I have always held the Shana silk handkerchiefs I received from the Blessed One on the crown of my head until reaching the state of no more learning. Blessed One, I did not take them for the sake of enjoyment, but I took them beginning with the teachings and subsequent instructions. Blessed One, I do not recall my mind becoming high or low after taking them. Blessed One, I do not recall ever using those Shana silk handkerchiefs on a body without Dharma robes. Blessed One, I do not recall ever touching those handkerchiefs with fingers that were not yellowed. Blessed One, wherever I went, I always bowed my head to those Shana silk handkerchiefs. Blessed One, I do not recall ever touching those Shana silk handkerchiefs with any unclean limbs. Blessed One, I have always held those Shana silk handkerchiefs that have become stupas. Blessed One, those were abandoned and permitted by the Blessed One, and I have always held them. I do not recall abiding in any other samadhi other than the recollection of the Buddha. How did I abide? I did not have the perception of earth as earth, nor the perception of water as water, nor the perception of fire as fire, nor the perception of wind as wind, nor the perception of this world, nor the perception of the other world. Blessed One, I also did not have perception of what is seen, heard, discerned, cognized, inferred by mind, and subsequently thought. Blessed One, regarding the state of no perception, and the state of abiding in the samadhi of no perception, and from perception
