Clinging to places, as well as signs in meditation, and the activity of wisdom are also the deeds of demons. Liking and admiring solitary places, and falling into equanimity are also the deeds of demons. Having few desires, being content, possessing the qualities of practice, and making the reduction of possessions a source of pride are also the deeds of demons. 'I abide in emptiness, I abide in signlessness, I abide in wishlessness, I abide in non-proliferation, I am carrying out the Buddha's teachings and abiding in them,' thinking in this way and generating pride and conceptualization are also the deeds of demons. Son of the gods, the extent of conceptualization, various conceptualizations, complete conceptualizations, as well as the places of seeing, hearing, distinguishing, and various cognitions, to that extent are the deeds of demons. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, from where do the deeds of demons arise? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, the deeds of demons arise from diligence. Why is that? Son of the gods, for those who are diligent, demons seek opportunities; what can demons do to those who are not diligent? That itself is the deed of demons. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, under what circumstances is a Bodhisattva diligent? Under what circumstances is he not diligent? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, to the extent that one is connected with duality, to that extent one is not diligent. Why is that? Because the abiding of the world is connected with duality. Son of the gods, what is called diligence is a euphemism for correct connection. What is called correct connection is a euphemism for non-connection. What is called non-connection is a euphemism for non-proliferation. What is called non-proliferation is a euphemism for correct connection. Son of the gods, where there is no connection with the eye and no connection with forms, this is called the correct connection of a Bodhisattva. Where there is no connection with the ear and no connection with sounds, no connection with the nose and no connection with smells, no connection with the tongue and no connection with tastes, no connection with the body and no connection with tactile objects, no connection with the mind and no connection with phenomena, this is called the correct connection of a Bodhisattva. Son of the gods, furthermore, there is also no connection with all the afflictions.

Also practice. This diligence to dispel the afflictions of all sentient beings is called the correct practice of a Bodhisattva. Son of the gods, furthermore, one does not practice for all the three realms, but causes sentient beings belonging to the three realms to arise, this is called the correct practice of a Bodhisattva. Furthermore, one also practices without arrogance in giving, and also practices gathering miserly sentient beings; one also practices without arrogance in morality, and also practices gathering sentient beings who violate morality; one also practices without arrogance in patience, and also practices gathering sentient beings with harmful minds; one also practices without arrogance in diligence, and also practices gathering lazy sentient beings; one also practices without arrogance in meditation, and also practices gathering sentient beings with distracted minds; one also practices without arrogance in wisdom, and also practices gathering sentient beings with perverse wisdom, this is also called the correct practice of a Bodhisattva. Furthermore, one also practices without arrogance in emptiness, and also separates from all those who have gone into views, and also is not liberated from those who have gone into views, this is the practice of emptiness. The emptiness that empties emptiness with emptiness, with this emptiness, all phenomena that have become seers are emptied; the emptiness that empties all phenomena that have become seers with emptiness, with this one knows that all dharmas are empty, and also there is no excessive pride in knowing, this is the correct practice of a Bodhisattva. Son of the gods, furthermore, one also practices without arrogance in signlessness, separating from all discriminations, and also not liberated from discriminations, this is the practice of signlessness. The discrimination that discriminates signlessness with discrimination, this discrimination is also equal to signlessness, and also this discrimination and signlessness are also equally known by discrimination with signlessness, knowing this and also there is no excessive pride in knowing, this is the correct practice of a Bodhisattva. Furthermore, one also practices without arrogance in wishlessness, and also practices consciously taking birth, even though he plants aspirations,
