Thus spoke the Blessed One: One who possesses right view causes wrong views to ripen. One who constantly cultivates right mindfulness cherishes wrong thoughts. With pure and upright speech, one cherishes those who speak wrongly. By abiding in right action, one gathers those with wrong actions. By constantly cultivating right effort, one abandons wrong efforts. By conforming to right livelihood, one gathers whatever is wrong livelihood. A wise person, with right thought, cherishes wrong intentions. From constantly abiding in right concentration, one gathers wrong concentrations. With the supreme right eightfold path, one ferries across the rivers. By constantly turning towards the right direction, one prevents deviation, this is the great path to enlightenment. The Hearers and Solitary Realizers, like a raft of grass, turn away on their own. The Bodhisattva turns away from all, like a helmsman guiding a great ship. Furthermore, daughter, because the Bodhisattva possesses eight kinds of Dharma, they will manifestly realize the path of nectar. What are the eight? Abiding in the Dharma of non-contention, well guarding the bound mind, constantly contemplating the meaning of emptiness, abiding in the mind of enlightenment, practicing the six recollections, practicing the perfections of diligent effort, accumulating roots of virtue and maturing all sentient beings, abiding in great compassion, gathering all right Dharmas, obtaining forbearance of the unborn Dharma, and abiding in the irreversible state. Then, the Blessed One again spoke in verse: Constantly cultivating non-contentious conduct, abide in the Dharma of the great renunciate. By completely abandoning the faults of hatred, one accumulates roots of virtue and so on. By well contemplating the right meaning, one obtains inexhaustible eloquence. By well abiding in the mind of enlightenment, one constantly recollects without forgetting. By diligently practicing all the perfections, there is no error. By obtaining skillful means and powers, one liberates sentient beings. With the wealth of the lord of Dharma, one gathers all compassionate thoughts, quickly obtaining the forbearance of non-arising, not turning back from enlightenment.

It will not change. If one can practice in that way, it is not difficult to obtain the Buddha's teachings. Soon after subduing the armies of demons, one will attain supreme enlightenment. Then, that girl, having heard such teachings, felt joyful and elated, and then said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, what kind of Dharma must one possess in order to be liberated from the state of being a woman? The Blessed One replied: Girl, if you possess eight qualities, you will be liberated from the state of being a woman. What are the eight? Not being jealous, not being stingy, not being deceitful, not being angry, speaking the truth, not speaking harsh words, abandoning desire, and abandoning wrong views. Girl, if you can attain these eight qualities, you will quickly be liberated from the state of being a woman. Then, the Blessed One again spoke in verse: Do not be jealous of others, abandon stinginess and have faith in the Dharma, do not use deceit and deception, be weary of the female body, after completely abandoning loving-kindness and hatred, always speak truthfully, eliminate desire, abandon harsh words, and abide in right view. Whoever is weary of the female body and practices such Dharma, will quickly abandon the female state and obtain a beautiful male body. Furthermore, girl, if you possess eight qualities, you can also be liberated from the state of being a woman. What are the eight? Taking the Buddha as the teacher, having great faith in the Dharma, serving and respecting monks and Brahmins who possess discipline, patience, and extensive learning, not having strong attachment and desire for the possessions of men, women, and families, not destroying the precepts that have been properly taken, not generating aversion towards sentient beings, completely renouncing the state of being a woman with superior intention, abiding in the Dharma of the great man with the mind of enlightenment, and viewing the mundane affairs of worldly life as illusions and dreams. Then, the Blessed One again in verse
