The daughter said: Father, does the Brahma, the ruler of the Sahā world, show respect to other deities? Does he attend upon them? The king said: Daughter, it is not so. The daughter said: Father, have you heard or seen the great ocean paying homage to lakes, ponds, springs, puddles, pools, and wells? The king said: Daughter, it is not so. The daughter said: Father, does the king of mountains, Mount Sumeru, bow down to or prostrate before other black mountains? Have you heard or seen it? The king said: Daughter, it is not so. The daughter said: Father, have you heard or seen the sun, moon, and stars desiring the light of fireflies? The king said: Daughter, it is not so. The daughter said: Father, have you heard or seen the lion, the king of beasts, submitting to a fox or attending upon it? The king said: Daughter, it is not so. The daughter said: Father, similarly, who, after generating the mind for unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, and proclaiming the lion's roar of great love and great compassion, would delight in, respect, attend upon, or prostrate before those who, like foxes, are inclined towards inferiority and devoid of great love and great compassion? Father, which great king of Dharma, while turning the unsurpassed wheel of Dharma, would pay homage to or worship those inferior, weak, dejected, and possessing limited knowledge śrāvakas out of fondness for them? Father, who, like the lord of gods, Indra, the master of the gods, while seeking the state of a perfectly pure lord of gods, would desire, prostrate before, respect, or attend upon those śrāvakas who are like minor gods with little merit? Father, who, like Brahma, the ruler of the Sahā world, while seeking the unsurpassed Brahma realm in the world, would desire, respect, attend upon, or prostrate before those śrāvakas who are like minor Brahmas with little roots of virtue? Father, who, while seeking to realize the immeasurable ocean of wisdom, and the Dharma of inequality and equality, would desire, respect, attend upon, or prostrate before those śrāvakas who follow the precepts like water in a cow's hoofprint? Father, who would

As such, the Thus-Gone One's Form body's meaning, if diligently engaged by Hearers possessing the power of mustard-seed-like samadhi, then they arise, or go for alms, or prostrate, or pay homage, or generate desire. Father, who knows the greatness of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, wisdom and merit and wisdom and qualities like the immeasurable light of the sun and moon, having heard, like the light of a firefly, appearing in one's own continuum, those Hearers who follow the sound of others, generate desire for liberation. I, the Thus-Gone Ones, though having passed into complete nirvana, do not prostrate to the Hearers, what need to mention remaining? Why is that? Who would abandon the circles of the sun and moon and prostrate to a firefly? Father, whoever relies on Hearers will abide with the mind of Hearers. If one relies on the Perfectly Complete Buddha, one will generate and abide in the precious mind of omniscience. Then, King Ajatashatru said to his daughter, Given by No Sorrow: "Thus, you, seeing these Hearers, do not rise, do not go for alms, do not prostrate, do not show reverence, do not guide these cushions and alms, daughter, you are one with excessive pride." Having said that, the daughter, Given by No Sorrow, said to her father, King Ajatashatru: "Father, I am not one with excessive pride. Why is that? Father, you do not rise to the poor of the city, do not go for alms, do not offer cushions, so I think you are one with excessive pride." The king said: "Daughter, those are not equal to me." The daughter said: "Father, likewise, a Bodhisattva who first generates the mind is not equal to all Hearers and Solitary Buddhas." The king said: Daughter, do Bodhisattvas, having abandoned pride and arrogance, not pay homage and prostrate to all sentient beings? The daughter said: Father, Bodhisattvas abandon resentment and jealousy and anger and harmful thoughts and faults.

Sa, in order to fully mature the roots of virtue, I bow down and prostrate to all sentient beings. These great Shravakas do not harbor resentment, contempt, anger, malice, or the elimination of faults, nor do they abandon or increase virtue. For all these Shravakas, even if countless Buddhas were to teach the precepts, samadhi, and wisdom of the Shravakas, they would not have precepts, would not have samadhi, would not have wisdom, would not have liberation, nor would they have the wisdom vision of liberation. It is like a vase filled with water; even if it rains, it will not absorb a single drop of water, nor will it remain inside. Similarly, for the Shravakas, even if countless Buddhas were to teach the Dharma, they would not accept it, and the precepts, samadhi, wisdom, liberation, and the wisdom vision of liberation would not remain in them, nor would they increase. It is like the great ocean, which can hold all the rivers and rains and remain in them. Why? Because the great ocean has no gaps. Similarly, Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas are like the ocean, able to fully contain all the water of the Dharma teachings, and all the Dharma teachings remain perfectly in them. Why? Because the vessel of the omniscient wisdom of the Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas is for inequality and equality. Therefore it is said: The daughter of King Ajatashatru, named Nirupadrava-datta, adorned with merits and splendor, even when five hundred Shravakas arrived, she did not rise to prostrate. King Ajatashatru said to her: Daughter, listen to me, you clearly see five hundred Shravakas, why do you not rise to prostrate? Nirupadrava-datta replied: When I see these Shravakas, why should I prostrate?
