No! It is having great faith, and wanting to see the noble ones, and wanting to hear the Dharma. It is being without stinginess and giving generously, being happy to extend a hand and give completely, and being happy to practice giving. It is having a mind without anger towards all sentient beings. It is a mind without turbidity, a mind without disturbance, a mind without contamination, and having complete faith in karma and the ripening of karma. It is fully understanding and believing, being without doubt and without hesitation. Because of knowing that the results of black and white dharmas are not in vain, therefore even for the sake of life, one does not commit sinful deeds. This is abandoning killing. Abandoning taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, idle chatter, covetousness, malice, and wrong view. Having abandoned these ten paths of unwholesome actions, one correctly takes up and practices the ten paths of virtuous actions. Because one has faith, whatever renunciates and Brahmins have gone forth correctly, have entered correctly, possess morality, possess virtuous qualities, are learned, diligent in learning, possess proper attention, are tamed, peaceful and near to peace, without contentious speech, without unpleasant speech, with a virtuous mind and without an unvirtuous mind, correctly engaging in virtue, completely abandoning all unwholesome dharmas, without excitement, not arrogant, without flattery, not speaking meaningless words, speech not confused, mindfulness abiding closely, the mind extremely evenly placed in meditation, those who have truly cut off the guides of existence, pulled out the thorns, abandoned the burden, crossed over doubt, crossed over hesitation, and the Buddhas, Bhagavat, who have exhausted existence, and the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas, recognizing such renunciates and Brahmins as virtuous friends, one approaches and serves them, respectfully serving and pleasing them, not causing them displeasure. Causing them joy, not causing them displeasure, truly causing them great joy, giving…

By generosity, one transforms into great enjoyment; by discipline, one is born in the heavens; by hearing, one transforms into great wisdom; and by meditation, one transforms into liberation. Thus, it is correctly and completely taught. This is generosity, this is the fruit of generosity; this is miserliness, this is the fruit of miserliness; this is discipline, this is the maturation of discipline; this is immoral discipline, this is the maturation of immoral discipline; this is patience, this is the maturation of patience; this is malice, this is the maturation of malice; this is diligence, this is the maturation of diligence; this is laziness, this is the maturation of laziness; this is meditation, this is the maturation of all meditations; this is distraction, this is the maturation of distraction; this is wisdom, this is the maturation of wisdom; this is immoral wisdom, this is the maturation of immoral wisdom; this is good conduct of the body, this is the maturation of good conduct of the body; this is misconduct of the body, this is the maturation of misconduct of the body; this is good conduct of speech, this is the maturation of good conduct of speech; this is misconduct of speech, this is the maturation of misconduct of speech; this is good conduct of mind. This is the maturation of good conduct of mind; this is misconduct of mind; this is the maturation of misconduct of mind; this is virtue, this is non-virtue; this is what should be done, this is what should not be done; if this is done, it will be meaningful, beneficial, and happy for a long time; if this is done, it will be harmful, unbeneficial, and unhappy for a long time. Thus, those virtuous friends correctly teach him with the words of the Dharma, causing him to correctly receive it, causing him to correctly understand emptiness, causing him to correctly rejoice, and knowing that he has become a vessel, they cause him to correctly receive the profound words, namely, the words of emptiness, the words of signlessness, the words of wishlessness, the words of non-conceptualization, and the words of unbornness.
