如《地光经》中所示，虽然仅仅是示现众生的行为，但如来（梵文：Tathāgata）的寿命却是究竟的。而众生的行为则没有任何究竟之处。众生因愚昧而迷惑，虽然仅仅是示现众生的行为，且是无量的，但如来却示现为具有尺度。寂静慧，因此，如来的语言如同通达行为一般，在一切众生的行为中显现。这寂静慧也是如来语言的秘密。寂静慧，哪些众生随学如来语言的秘密智慧，他们不会认为如来的语言是从口中产生的，而是了知其从虚空中产生。寂静慧，众生们认为如来的语言是从口中产生的，你不应如此看待。那是什么原因呢？寂静慧，有些众生了知如来的语言是从顶髻中产生的，有些了知是从头顶产生的，有些了知是从头发中产生的，有些了知是从肩膀产生的，有些了知是从幻化中产生的，有些了知是从眉间产生的，有些了知是从白毫相（梵文：ūrṇākośa）中产生的，有些了知是从眼睛和耳朵中产生的，有些了知是从鼻子和脸颊中产生的，有些了知是从嘴巴和颈项中产生的，同样，有些了知是从手臂和手掌中产生的，有些了知是从手指和肋骨中产生的，有些了知是从胸膛和背部中产生的，有些了知是从肚脐和秘密处中产生的，有些了知是从大腿和膝盖骨中产生的，有些了知是从小腿和脚踝中产生的，有些了知是从脚底和性器官中产生的，有些了知是从妙相和所有毛孔中产生如来的语言，寂静慧，这（些）也是如来语言的秘密。寂静慧，随其意乐如何，成熟如何，思虑如何，如是了知如来的语言产生，然而寂静慧，如来没有分别念，是舍弃的。寂静慧，例如，乐器铙钹的轮盘被精巧地组装起来，无需用手触碰，仅凭风的吹动就能发出美妙的声音。

As shown in the "Earth Light Sutra," although it merely demonstrates the behavior of sentient beings, the life of the Tathagata is ultimate. However, there is nothing ultimate in the behavior of sentient beings. Sentient beings are deluded by ignorance, and although it merely demonstrates the behavior of sentient beings and is immeasurable, the Tathagata shows it to be with measure. Peaceful Wisdom, therefore, the language of the Tathagata appears in all the behaviors of sentient beings, just as understanding behavior. This Peaceful Wisdom is also the secret of the Tathagata's language. Peaceful Wisdom, those sentient beings who follow the secret wisdom of the Tathagata's language do not think that the Tathagata's language comes from the mouth, but know that it comes from the sky. Peaceful Wisdom, sentient beings think that the Tathagata's language comes from the mouth, you should not look at it that way. What is the reason for that? Peaceful Wisdom, some sentient beings know that the Tathagata's language comes from the crown of the head, some know that it comes from the top of the head, some know that it comes from the hair, some know that it comes from the shoulders, some know that it comes from the transformation, some know that it comes from between the eyebrows, some know that it comes from the ūrṇākośa, some know that it comes from the eyes and ears, some know that it comes from the nose and cheeks, some know that it comes from the mouth and neck, similarly, some know that it comes from the arms and palms, some know that it comes from the fingers and ribs, some know that it comes from the chest and back, some know that it comes from the navel and secret place, some know that it comes from the thighs and kneecaps, some know that it comes from the calves and ankles, some know that it comes from the soles of the feet and sexual organs, some know that the Tathagata's language comes from the auspicious marks and all the pores. Peaceful Wisdom, these are also the secrets of the Tathagata's language. Peaceful Wisdom, according to how one desires, how one matures, and how one thinks, one knows that the Tathagata's language arises, but Peaceful Wisdom, the Tathagata has no conceptualization, is abandoning. Peaceful Wisdom, for example, the wheel of a musical instrument, the cymbal, is so skillfully assembled that it does not need to be touched by hand, and only the movement of the wind can produce beautiful sounds.

Shariputra. However, although it has no intention of producing sound, a beautiful sound also arises due to the distinction of being completely purified. Shariputra, similarly, the speech of the Tathagata also arises when moved by the thought consciousness of sentient beings. However, although the Tathagata has no intention of producing speech, due to the distinction of having been completely purified previously, the speech of the Tathagata also follows the realm of all sentient beings. Shariputra, this is like the sound of an echo in a rock cave, which also makes others aware, but it is not inside, nor outside, nor can it be determined from the absence of both. Shariputra, similarly, the speech of the Tathagata also makes the thoughts of sentient beings aware, but it is not inside, nor outside, nor can it be determined in the absence of both. Shariputra, this is like, for example, in the great ocean there is a wish-fulfilling jewel called "completely fulfilling all wishes." If it is hung on the top of a banner, then whatever any sentient being thinks in their mind, a corresponding sound will arise from it, but that wish-fulfilling jewel is non-conceptual. Shariputra, similarly, the speech of the Tathagata is a precious jewel, completely purified by superior intention. If it is hung on the top of the banner of great compassion, then whatever any sentient being thinks in their mind, the speech of the Tathagata will appear accordingly, but the Tathagata has no conceptual thought and is impartial. Shariputra, this is also the secret of the Tathagata's speech. Shariputra, the speech of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, is immeasurable. Shariputra, whoever is able to grasp the measure or limit of the Tathagata's voice, I have not seen in the world including gods, demons, Brahma, ascetics and Brahmins, and including gods, humans, and asuras.
