Furthermore, the main part should also be stated there. The excellent part should also be stated there. The place that cannot be suppressed should also be stated there. The great nature of the Buddha should also be shown there. Meeting with immeasurable Buddhas should also be shown there. The union of completely peaceful samadhi should also be stated there. Liberation from the cycle of samsara should also be stated there. Protecting all suffering beings should also be stated there. What is the reason for that? Because for all the Buddha's teachings, one should generate a stronger intention there, and whatever place one hears, one should unite oneself there, and one should make oneself not dependent on others. O sons of the Victorious Ones, this is the instruction for the Bodhisattva who has generated the first thought. O sons of the Victorious Ones, what is the instruction for the Bodhisattva who is a beginner in practice? O sons of the Victorious Ones, here, the Bodhisattva should initially cultivate closeness to the minds of all sentient beings in ten ways. What are these ten ways? For example: cultivating closeness to the mind of benefiting. The mind of compassion, the mind of happiness, the mind of abiding, the mind of loving-kindness, the mind of benefiting, the mind of completely protecting, the mind of equality, the mind of a teacher, and the mind of a guide. With these ten ways, cultivate closeness to the minds of all sentient beings. O sons of the Victorious Ones, this is the Bodhisattva who is a beginner in practice. O sons of the Victorious Ones, for that Bodhisattva who is a beginner in practice, one should initially encourage him to recite. After hearing much, one should encourage him to abide in solitude. After being completely in solitude, one should encourage him to become a virtuous friend. After becoming a virtuous friend, one should encourage him to enjoy happiness. After enjoying happiness, one should encourage him to know the time. After knowing the time, one should encourage him to be fearless. After being fearless, one should encourage him to understand the meaning. After understanding the meaning, one should encourage him to follow the Dharma. After following the Dharma, one should encourage him to be without delusion.

One should be fully encouraged. After becoming free from ignorance, one should be fully encouraged to rejoice. Why is that? Because one should manifest great compassion even more towards all sentient beings, and whatever place one hears, one should connect oneself to it, and one should not become dependent on others. Therefore, noble sons, this is the joy of the first karmic Bodhisattva. Noble sons, what is the joy of the Bodhisattva who practices yoga? Noble sons, here, the Bodhisattva strives in all dharmas with ten aspects of focus. What are the ten? Like this, all dharmas are impermanent, all dharmas are suffering, all dharmas are emptiness, all dharmas are without self, all dharmas are without a maker, all dharmas are without an experiencer, all dharmas are without indication, all dharmas are without a place, all dharmas are without discrimination, all dharmas are without intentional action. With those ten aspects of focus, one strives in the manner of following the dharma. Noble sons, this is the Bodhisattva who practices yoga. Noble sons, thus, that Bodhisattva who practices yoga should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of sentient beings. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of dharma. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of the world. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of earth. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of water. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of fire. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of wind. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of desire. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of form. One should be fully encouraged to examine the realm of the formless. Why is that? Because from this, the appearance of dharma arises even more, and whatever place one hears, one should connect oneself to it, and one should not become dependent on others. Therefore, noble sons, this is the joy of the Bodhisattva who practices yoga. Noble

O sons of the Victorious Ones, what is a Bodhisattva who has greatly grown in that place? O sons of the Victorious Ones, here, a Bodhisattva is born from ten perfections that ripen in the sacred scriptures. What are the ten? They are: irreversibility; reaching the ultimate in faith through knowledge of the Buddha; definitely understanding the Dharma; cultivating beings; cultivating fields; cultivating realms of the world; cultivating actions; cultivating ripening; cultivating cyclic existence; and cultivating nirvana. O sons of the Victorious Ones, these ten perfections are born from the sacred scriptures. O sons of the Victorious Ones, this is a Bodhisattva who has grown. Therefore, that Bodhisattva who has grown should be encouraged to cultivate the Dharma of the past Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the Dharma of the future Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the Dharma of the present Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the true practice of the Dharma of the past Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the practice of the Dharma of the future Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the practice of the Dharma of the present Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the complete practice of the Dharma of the past Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the complete practice of the Dharma of the future Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the complete practice of the Dharma of the present Buddhas; should be encouraged to cultivate the equality of the Buddhas. Why is that? Because at that time, one should apply the mind even more to the equality of the three times, and wherever one hears, one should unite oneself with it, and one should not place oneself in dependence on others. O sons of the Victorious Ones, this is the differentiation of a Bodhisattva who has grown. O sons of the Victorious Ones, what is a Bodhisattva who is endowed with perfect union in that place? O sons of the Victorious Ones!
