The former formations do not even come close to a hundredth part, nor to a thousandth part, nor to a hundred thousandth part, nor to a millionth part, nor to a hundred millionth part, nor to a billionth part, nor to a hundred billionth part, nor to a trillionth part. They do not even come close in number. They cannot be counted, cannot be compared, cannot be shown by comparison, cannot be a basis, cannot be a cause. Why is that? Because all those Bodhisattvas abide, having properly taken up the precepts with the perception of signs. Furthermore, Subhuti, if all the beings in the world system of the three-thousand great-thousand worlds, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, were to properly enter into unexcelled, perfect enlightenment, and having properly entered into unexcelled, perfect enlightenment, were to practice well with their bodies, practice well with their speech, and practice well with their minds for as many eons as there are sands in the Ganges River, taking up the precepts properly with the perception of signs, let alone that. Furthermore, Subhuti, if all the beings in the world system of the three-thousand great-thousand worlds, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, were to properly enter into unexcelled, perfect enlightenment, and having properly entered into unexcelled, perfect enlightenment, were to abide for as many eons as there are sands in the Ganges River, and all the other beings in the world system of the three-thousand great-thousand worlds, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, were to expose the faults, beat, and revile each Bodhisattva, yet they would still properly take up and abide in patience with pride and the perception of signs. Likewise, all those Bodhisattvas with the perception of signs would properly take up and abide in patience. In this way, each of those Bodhisattvas would abide for as many eons as there are sands in the Ganges River, and all the beings in the world system of the three-thousand great-thousand worlds, as many as the sands of the Ganges River, would expose the faults, beat, and revile them for as many eons as there are sands in the Ganges River.

, and those with an ego and an attached consciousness, correctly take up and abide in patience. Similarly, even if all of them are exposed, beaten, and reviled by everyone, those with an ego and an attached consciousness still correctly take up and abide in patience. A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, who is fully possessed of the Perfection of Wisdom and skillful means, with respect to the aggregates of morality, the aggregates of samadhi, the aggregates of wisdom, the aggregates of liberation, and the aggregates of the knowledge and vision of liberation of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, who have passed away, who have not yet come, and who are presently arising; and the aggregates of morality, samadhi, wisdom, liberation, and the knowledge and vision of liberation of those Pratyekabuddhas; and the aggregates of morality, samadhi, wisdom, liberation, and the knowledge and vision of liberation of those Shravakas; and all the roots of virtue of all sentient beings who have passed away, who have not yet come, and who are presently arising, having gathered, combined, and measured all of these into one, until nothing remains. With respect to what remains, they rejoice with the supreme rejoicing, that is, they rejoice with the rejoicing of the holy, the principal, the excellent, the most excellent, the abundant, the guru, the unsurpassed, the incomparable, the supreme above the supreme, the unequaled, the unequal, the equal, the extremely unequal, and the inconceivable. Having rejoiced, they completely dedicate the object of meritorious action possessed of rejoicing to the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Manjushri, with respect to this object of meritorious action possessed of rejoicing, the Bodhisattva who has an attached consciousness, who performs the accumulation of merit possessed of patience of those former ones, does not even come close to one part in a hundred.
