Earth Warrior, the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom is as follows: Thus, one discerns individually: The emptiness of form makes form empty; form itself is emptiness; emptiness is also form. Similarly, the emptiness of feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness makes consciousness empty; consciousness itself is also emptiness; emptiness is also consciousness. Similarly, the emptiness of the eye makes the eye empty; the eye itself is also emptiness; emptiness is also the eye. Similarly, the emptiness of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind makes the mind empty; the mind itself is also emptiness; emptiness is also the mind. Similarly, combining them, the emptiness between the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the eye's combination makes the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the eye's combination empty; the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the eye's combination itself is also emptiness; emptiness is also the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the eye's combination. Similarly, the emptiness between the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the mind's combination makes the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the mind's combination empty; the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the mind's combination itself is also emptiness; emptiness is also the feeling arising from the condition of contact of the mind's combination. Similarly, the emptiness of the mindfulnesses makes the mindfulnesses empty; the mindfulnesses themselves are also emptiness; emptiness is also the mindfulnesses. Up to the emptiness of the Noble Eightfold Path, makes the Noble Eightfold Path empty; the Noble Eightfold Path itself is also emptiness; emptiness is also the Noble Eightfold Path. Similarly, the emptiness of the ten powers of the Tathagata makes the ten powers of the Tathagata empty; the ten powers of the Tathagata themselves are also emptiness; emptiness is also the ten powers of the Tathagata. Similarly, combining them, up to the emptiness of the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha, makes the qualities of the Buddha empty; the qualities of the Buddha themselves are also empty.

is emptiness. It is also discerned that emptiness is also the Dharma of the Buddhas. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Blessed One: O venerable Blessed One, this Prajnaparamita is profound. Will a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has newly and correctly entered the Mahayana be afraid and terrified upon hearing this exposition of Prajnaparamita? After saying this, the Blessed One said to the venerable Sharadvatiputra: Sharadvatiputra, if a Bodhisattva Mahasattva has not generated roots of virtue, has not paid homage to hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, has not been firmly established by relying on many roots of virtue, has not been completely embraced by a spiritual friend, does not have faith in the vast, is not free from the misdeeds of body and mind, and does not possess blazing roots of virtue, then upon hearing this exposition of Prajnaparamita, he will be afraid, terrified, and very terrified. Why is that? Because this exposition of Prajnaparamita will not be heard by those who have not generated roots of virtue, those who have not paid homage to hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, those who have not been completely embraced by a spiritual friend, those who have no faith, those whose minds have fallen into the Hearer and Solitary Realizer vehicles, those who are weak in diligence, those who are lazy, and those who desire manifest happiness in existence. Sharadvatiputra, therefore, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who wishes to perfect the Paramita of Giving should train in Prajnaparamita itself. Likewise, wishing to fully know form, likewise, feeling, perception, formations, and wishing to fully know consciousness, likewise, wishing to fully know the eye, likewise, wishing to fully know between the mind, wishing to fully know, likewise, wishing to fully know forms.
