The Blessed One possesses the best taste, able to swallow straight, with a throat that is upright and not crooked, able to swallow without obstruction. The Blessed One's tongue is long and thin. The length and thinness of the tongue are such that if the Thus-Gone One wishes, he can extend his tongue from his mouth, touching both nostrils, both eye sockets, both ear holes, and completely cover them, even reaching the crown of his head, covering the entire circle of his face. The Blessed One possesses the voice of Brahma. The Blessed One has wide eyes, like a cow's eyelashes. The Blessed One has noble eyes like blue lotuses. The Blessed One's eye structure is completely perfect. The Blessed One's body radiance is one fathom. The Blessed One's face is like the full moon. The Blessed One's urna hair grows between the eyebrows, soft like cotton, possessing the color of jasmine flowers, the moon, conch shells, lotus roots, milk, and white clouds. The Blessed One possesses a crown protuberance. These are the thirty-two major marks of a great being of the Thus-Gone One. What are the eighty minor marks? They are as follows: The nails of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, have the color of red copper. The body is as upright as the trunk of an Ashoka tree. The kneecaps are beautiful. The body is pure. The body is soft. The body is gentle. The body is lustrous. The body is not bent. The fingers are long and slender. The fingers of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are rounded. The fingers are slender. The veins are not visible.

Their hands and feet are fully extended. The Buddhas, the Bhagavad, are those who have hands and feet as they wish. The palms of their hands are even. The lines on their hands are unbroken. Their hair is not tangled. Their chests are well adorned with auspicious swastikas. The marks on their hands and feet blaze with glory. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, possess marks like those painted with colors such as vermilion, orpiment, realgar, indigo, and verdigris. These are called the eighty minor marks of perfection. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Bhagavat: "Venerable Bhagavat, if Bodhisattvas, great beings, do not cling to all dharmas, then Bodhisattvas will not truly see the distinctions of all dharmas, such as: 'These are virtuous dharmas, these are non-virtuous dharmas, these are predicted dharmas, these are unpredicted dharmas, these are worldly dharmas, these are transcendental dharmas, these are defiled dharmas, these are undefiled dharmas, these are conditioned dharmas, these are unconditioned dharmas, these are common dharmas, these are uncommon dharmas.' If they do not truly see these distinctions, how will they cultivate the path to enlightenment? If they do not cultivate it, how will they attain omniscience?" Having thus inquired,
