All realms also become one realm, the realm of wind alone. All realms are contemplated as the nature of the space realm, and all realms also become one realm, the realm of space alone. All realms are contemplated as blue, and they all become blue. All realms are contemplated as yellow, and they all become yellow. All realms are contemplated as red, and they all become red. All realms are contemplated as white, and they all become white. All realms are contemplated as consciousness, and all realms also become one realm, the realm of consciousness alone. Earth, water, fire, wind, space, blue, yellow, red, white, and consciousness, all of these become one alone, and this is called the all-exhaustive sources of birth. Because it increases the all-exhaustive birth, it is called the all-exhaustive sources of birth. Each one also becomes all sources of birth, therefore it is called the all-exhaustive sources of birth. What are the eighteen emptinesses? They are: inner emptiness, outer emptiness, inner-outer emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, boundless emptiness, beginningless and endless emptiness, non-abandoning emptiness, self-nature emptiness, all-dharmas emptiness, self-characteristic emptiness, unobtainable emptiness, non-entity emptiness, own-being emptiness, and non-entity own-being emptiness. What is inner emptiness? It is called inner dharmas, such as: eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Because there is no permanently existing and non-perishing thing in them, the eye is empty by the eye. Why? Because its nature is such. Similarly, because there is no permanently existing and non-perishing thing, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind are empty by the mind. Why?

Because its nature is such. That is called inner emptiness. What is outer emptiness? The so-called outer dharmas are form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas. Because they do not exist permanently and do not perish, forms are empty of forms. Why? Because its nature is such. Similarly, because there is no permanent existence and no destruction, sound, smell, taste, touch, and dharmas are empty of dharmas. Why? Because its nature is such. That is called outer emptiness. What is inner and outer emptiness? The so-called inner and outer dharmas are the six inner sense bases and the six outer sense bases. Because they do not exist permanently and do not perish, inner dharmas are empty of inner dharmas. Why? Because its nature is such. Because there is no permanent existence and no destruction, outer dharmas are also empty of outer dharmas. Why? Because its nature is such. That is called inner and outer emptiness. What is emptiness of emptiness? Because there is no permanent existence and no destruction, the emptiness of all dharmas is also empty of the emptiness of all dharmas. Why? Because its nature is such. That is called emptiness of emptiness. What is great emptiness? Because there is no permanent existence and no destruction, the east is empty of the east. Why? Because its nature is such. Similarly, because there is no permanent existence and no destruction, the south, west, north, and four intermediate directions, these eight directions are also the same. The direction above is empty of the direction above. The direction below is also empty of the direction below. Why? Because its nature is such. That is called great emptiness. What is ultimate emptiness?

Then, what is called "Ultimate Truth Emptiness"? The term "Ultimate Truth" refers to "Nirvana." Because there is no permanence or destruction in it, Nirvana is empty by Nirvana. Why is that? Because that is its nature, it is called "Ultimate Truth Emptiness." Then, what is "Conditioned Emptiness"? "Conditioned" refers to the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. Because there is no permanence or destruction in them, the desire realm is empty by the desire realm. Similarly, the form realm is empty by the form realm. The formless realm is empty by the formless realm. Why is that? Because that is its nature, it is called "Conditioned Emptiness." Then, what is "Unconditioned Emptiness"? "Unconditioned" refers to any dharma that has no birth, no abiding, no destruction, and no change. Because there is no permanence or destruction in them, the unconditioned is empty by the unconditioned. Why is that? Because that is its nature, it is called "Unconditioned Emptiness." Then, what is "Transcending Extremes Emptiness"? Because there is no permanence or complete destruction, the appearance of birth is extremely imperceptible for any dharma. Why is that? Because that is its nature, it is called "Transcending Extremes Emptiness." Then, what is "Beginningless and Endless Emptiness"? Because there is no permanence or destruction, the appearance of coming is imperceptible for any dharma. Why is that? Because that is its nature, it is called "Beginningless and Endless Emptiness." Then, what is "Non-Abandoning Emptiness"? Because there is no permanence or destruction, there is no dharma that can be abandoned for anything. Why is that? Because that is its nature, it is called "Non-Abandoning Emptiness." Then, what is "Self-Nature Emptiness"? Because there is no permanence or destruction, the self-nature of all conditioned or unconditioned dharmas is
