Those ignorant children, all those people will desire to sink into the six realms of samsara. They are all far from the Prajnaparamita. They are all far from the Buddha's Dharma. Furthermore, sons of good family, if someone knows that all dharmas are like dreams, as the Tathagata has truly revealed that all dharmas are like dreams, they will not conceive of any dharma as coming, going, arising, or ceasing. Those who do not conceive of any dharma as coming, going, arising, or ceasing, they have fully understood the nature of the Tathagata. Those who fully understand the nature of the Tathagata, they will not conceive of the Tathagata as coming or going. Those who so fully understand the nature of the Tathagata, they have approached the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and they practice the Prajnaparamita. The Blessed One said that those Shravaka disciples meaningfully consume the alms of the region, and they are the objects of offerings in the world. Sons of good family, for example, there are jewels in the great ocean, which do not come from the east, nor from the south, west, north, intermediate directions, above, below, or any of the ten directions. However, relying on the roots of virtue of those sentient beings, jewels arise from within the great ocean. They do not arise without cause, but rely on causes, conditions, and a basis. The cessation of those jewels also does not transfer to any place in the ten directions. If those conditions exist, those jewels will manifest. If those conditions do not exist, those jewels will not manifest either. Sons of good family, similarly, the manifested body of the Tathagatas does not come from anywhere, nor does it depart to any place in the ten directions. The body of those Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, is also not without cause, but is perfected by previous actions. Therefore, relying on causes and conditions, it arises from the cause of the ripening of previous karmic actions.

It is like that. Those too, if the conditions are present, the body will manifestly be accomplished, but if those conditions are not present, the manifest accomplishment of the body will also not appear. Son of good family, for example, the sound of a lute arises, but it does not come from anywhere. When it ceases, it does not go anywhere either. It does not move anywhere. It arises dependently, relying on causes and conditions. For example, relying on the body of the lute, relying on the skin, relying on the strings, relying on the wood, relying on the string-holder, relying on the effort arising from that person, sound arises from that lute. That sound does not arise from the body of the lute, nor from the skin, nor from the strings, nor from the wood, nor from the string-holder, nor from the effort arising from that person. However, when all of those are assembled, it is heard as sound, and just as that sound does not go anywhere when it ceases, so too, Son of good family, the complete accomplishment of the bodies of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also depends on causes, depends on conditions, and is completely accomplished by many roots of virtue. It is not by one cause, not by one condition, not by one root of virtue that the body of the Buddha is completely distinguished. Nor is it without cause. It arises from the assembly of many causes and conditions, but it does not come from anywhere. Even when the assembly of causes and conditions is absent, it does not go anywhere. Son of good family, you should view the coming and going of those Tathagatas in that way. Son of good family, you should also comprehend the nature of all dharmas in this way. Son of good family, from the time that you know the Tathagata and all dharmas to be unborn and unceasing in that way, from that time on you will certainly be destined for unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and you will certainly engage in the perfection of wisdom and skillful means. When this was spoken about the Tathagata's coming and going being nonexistent, a great earthquake occurred, and all of this three-thousandfold great thousand world realm shook in six ways, namely, it shook, it shook greatly, it shook completely greatly, it trembled, it trembled greatly, it trembled completely greatly, and all the abodes of the demons were also shaken and frightened.
