Meditating on Napa. Meditating on great compassion and destroying it is meditating on Prajñāpāramitā. Meditating on the fruit of entering the stream and destroying it is meditating on Prajñāpāramitā. Meditating on the fruit of once returning, the fruit of non-returning, and Arhatship and destroying them is meditating on Prajñāpāramitā. Meditating on self-enlightenment and destroying it is meditating on Prajñāpāramitā. Meditating on all-knowingness and destroying it is meditating on Prajñāpāramitā. Meditating on abandoning all connections of habitual tendencies and destroying it is meditating on Prajñāpāramitā. Having spoken thus, the venerable Subhuti said this to the Blessed One: Blessed One, how is meditating on form and destroying it meditating on Prajñāpāramitā? Likewise, how is meditating on abandoning all connections of habitual tendencies and destroying it meditating on Prajñāpāramitā? Having spoken thus, the Blessed One said this to the venerable Subhuti: Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices Prajñāpāramitā, he does not meditate that form is something real. Feeling and, perception and, formations and, consciousness He does not meditate that they are something real. Why is that? Subhuti, because meditating on something as real, there is no meditation on Prajñāpāramitā, and likewise connecting, until all-knowingness, because meditating on something as real, there is no meditation on Prajñāpāramitā. He does not meditate that desire and hatred and, ignorance are something real. He does not meditate that latent tendencies and, entanglements are something real. Why is that? Subhuti, because meditating on something as real, there is no meditation on generosity pāramitā, and morality pāramitā and, patience pāramitā and, diligence pāramitā and, concentration pāramitā

because there is no perfection of giving, and no cultivation of the perfection of wisdom. Why is that? Because, Subhuti, he clings to things, but he does not cling to giving, morality, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom. Whoever clings to things, thinking "this is me," that person who clings to the two extremes has no liberation. Subhuti, for one who perceives things, there is no cultivation of mindfulness, no cultivation of right exertion, no cultivation of the foundations of miraculous power, no cultivation of the faculties, no cultivation of the powers, no cultivation of the limbs of enlightenment, no cultivation of the path, no cultivation of emptiness, no cultivation of the signless, and no cultivation of the wishless. Similarly, there is no cultivation up to the all-knowingness. Why is that? Because, Subhuti, he clings to things. When this was said, the venerable Subhuti said to the Blessed One, "Blessed One, what are things? What are non-things?" The Blessed One said, "Subhuti, two are things. Non-duality is non-thing." (Subhuti) asked, "Blessed One, what are the two?" (The Blessed One) replied, "Subhuti, perceiving form is two, perceiving feeling, perceiving perception, perceiving formations, perceiving consciousness, from perceiving the eye to perceiving the mind, from perceiving form to perceiving dharma, similarly, perceiving Buddha, perceiving enlightenment, perceiving the conditioned realm, perceiving the unconditioned realm, Subhuti, all perceptions and all non-perceptions, these are all two. As much as there is two, that much is thing. As much as there is thing, that much is formation. As much as there is formation, that much sentient beings are not completely liberated from birth, old age, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, discomfort, and turmoil. Subhuti, therefore, you
