They are not born in the hells with fire. They are not born in any of the eight states of disadvantage. They do not fully grasp the nature of women. Furthermore, Subhuti, an irreversible bodhisattva-mahasattva abides by properly undertaking the ten paths of virtuous actions. He himself abandons killing, and he also causes others to properly undertake abandoning killing. He speaks of the praise of abandoning killing. He also speaks of the praise of those others who have abandoned killing, and he rejoices accordingly. It is the same up to wrong views. Subhuti, a bodhisattva-mahasattva who possesses those aspects, those signs, and those characteristics should be known as irreversible. Furthermore, Subhuti, an irreversible bodhisattva-mahasattva does not engage in the ten paths of non-virtuous actions even in dreams, so what need is there to mention when awake? Furthermore, Subhuti, an irreversible bodhisattva-mahasattva, when he gives the gift of any dharma that thoroughly understands the section of sutras, or the section spoken in verse, or the section of prophecies, or the section of self-utterances, or the section that shows the determination, he thinks, "By this gift of dharma, may the thoughts of all beings be completely fulfilled!" Having thought thus, that gift of dharma is shared with all beings and is unsurpassed and perfectly complete.

A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who possesses these characteristics, these signs, and these marks should be known as irreversible. Furthermore, for an irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, there are absolutely no latent tendencies whatsoever. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who possesses these characteristics, these signs, and these marks should be known as irreversible. Furthermore, an irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, whether going or returning, does not go with a deluded mind, nor does he return with a deluded mind. Whether going or returning, he goes with mindfulness closely established, and returns with mindfulness closely established. He walks mindfully, stands mindfully, sits mindfully, and lies down mindfully. He does not lift his foot carelessly from the ground, nor does he place his foot carelessly on the ground. Rather, he lifts his foot mindfully and places his foot mindfully, and he walks while looking at the direction of the ground. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who possesses these characteristics, these signs, and these marks should be known as irreversible. Furthermore, the position and conduct of an irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattva are irreproachable. Subhuti, an irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattva possesses pure conduct, being pure and without foul odor, free from dust and defilement, and having few illnesses. Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who possesses these characteristics, these signs, and these marks should be known as irreversible. Furthermore, the eighty thousand kinds of worms that exist in the bodies of those who have become human beings, and which eat those bodies, are completely and utterly absent from the body of an irreversible Bodhisattva-Mahasattva. Why is that? Subhuti, it is because the roots of virtue of a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva are manifestly superior to all the worlds. Therefore, there are no kinds of worms in the body of a Bodhisattva.
