They do not grasp or abandon all those roots of virtue. They do not become arrogant or despise them. They do not focus on them, thinking, 'In this, no dharma arises, no dharma ceases, no dharma is completely defiled, no dharma is completely purified. These dharmas neither decrease nor increase, neither come nor go, nor are they aggregates.' Thinking in this way, and through this method, they rejoice in the suchness of the dharmas that have arisen in the past, future, and present, the non-erroneous suchness, the non-different suchness, the dharma-nature, the abiding nature of dharma, and the faultless nature of dharma, just as they are. Having rejoiced, they completely dedicate it to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The rejoicing of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva who dedicates in this way transforms from becoming excellent to becoming unsurpassed. Shariputra, all other rejoicings do not even approach one-hundredth part of that rejoicing, and are not even tolerable up to the cause. This rejoicing, compared to other rejoicings, transforms from being called the supreme of rejoicing to being called unsurpassed. Shariputra, furthermore, a son or daughter of good family who has newly entered the Great Vehicle, and all the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas of the past, future, and present, together with the Sangha of Shravakas, including the Pratyekabuddhas, from the time they generate the first thought until the holy Dharma remains, whatever roots of virtue are associated with the perfection of generosity, and whatever roots of virtue are associated with the perfections of ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom, up to the roots of virtue associated with immeasurable Buddha-dharmas, and whatever roots of virtue of all other sentient beings, if they wish to rejoice in all those roots of virtue, they should rejoice in this way: Just as liberation is, so is generosity. Just as liberation is, so are ethics, patience, diligence,
