Ma. Any living being born in the realm of animals, if it goes to the heart of the Bodhi tree, or near the heart of the Bodhi tree, or inside the heart of the Bodhi tree, humans or non-humans cannot play or even slightly elevate themselves there. Why is that? Because the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas of the past also resided there and attained the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. The Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas who appear now and will appear in the future also reside there, attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, will attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, and after attaining enlightenment, they will also place all sentient beings in a state of fearlessness, without enmity, without harm, and without vexation. After placing them in a state of fearlessness, without enmity, without harm, and without vexation, they will also place countless and immeasurable sentient beings in the perfection of gods and humans, and also place them in the stream-enterer fruit, once-returner fruit, non-returner fruit, Arhatship, solitary enlightenment, and unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Why is that? Kauśika (कौशिक,Kauśika, कौशिक), because this Prajñāpāramitā has made that place a stupa for all sentient beings, therefore it is worthy of being offered with flowers, incense, perfumes, flower garlands, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and flags, worthy of being painted, worthy of being respected, and worthy of being prostrated to. After saying this, Indra, the lord of the gods, said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, any son or daughter of good family who writes this Prajñāpāramitā into letters and makes it into a scripture, holds it, and respects it with flowers, incense, perfumes, flower garlands, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and flags, regards it as a guru, paints it, and makes offerings,

I, having given the relics of the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyak-sambuddha, who has completely passed into nirvana, as stupas, and having given them, also completely hold and keep them. And to them, with flowers, incense, perfume, flower garlands, unguents, powders, clothes, umbrellas, banners, and flags, I will show respect, treat as a guru, make into images, and make offerings. From that, what great merit will be generated? After this was asked, the Bhagavan said to the Lord of the Gods, Indra, as follows: Kausika. Therefore, I ask you, answer as you endure. Kausika. What do you think? The Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyak-sambuddha, having attained omniscience, and the Tathagata having manifested such a body, after the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyak-sambuddha, has trained in which path, has manifested the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment, attained omniscience, and manifested such a body, what do you think? After this was said, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Bhagavan as follows: Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyak-sambuddha, having trained in this Prajnaparamita, has manifested the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment, attained omniscience, and manifested such a body. The Bhagavan said: Kausika. It is so, it is so. The Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyak-sambuddha, having trained in this Prajnaparamita, has manifested the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment, attained omniscience, and manifested such a body. Kausika. Therefore, it is not because of obtaining such a body that one is counted among the Tathagatas, but because of attaining omniscience that one becomes a Tathagata.
